Right or Wrong...I have to say...

Right or wrong I have to say that there has been so much trouble with the games the last few months.High pings, etc.It really doesn't seem worth it to have STEAM. I can get much better gaming by just buying the game and going with it's multiplayer, etc. What is STEAM but some leach with ADS? Join me, brothers. Cut the cord. Make the market perform.

Now while I have saved alot of money on steam sales and specials, It infuriates me to no end that I have to have an interent connection to access downloaded content,IE Maseffect,Dragon Age in a game that I own and that it can turn into a gamestopper. But that's just me whining. I havn't noticed any lag as of late and am on Steam just about every day. I still have games I havn't played yet that I purchased months ago as part of those MASSIVE specials they had. Dammit I'm rambling,,,,need more wine!

I have never notice lag on steam games.

Steam takes the same amount of memory as Internet Explorer running in the background. If that causes high ping you have problems.

Can somebody explain to me exactly how a matchmaking service affects the performance of a game running on a dedicated server?

Why do you make another thread about this issue? (This is like the 5th IIRC) And every time everyone tries to explain to you that Steam has absolutely no impact on the performance on a game's multiplayer. Einstein once said that the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect a different result. And by that definition I would call you insane. By the way don't you think there would be more threads about this issue if Steam was really at fault, I guarantee everyone on this forum uses it.General_X
