As the Topic/Subject asks, is Rise of Legends as open ended as Rise of Nations? I played the very first stage of Rise of Legends, and I don't remember any Open ended gameplay about it. It actually seemed like a small RTS game like warcraft 3. I'm Looking for a game like Black and White 2. Is this game for me?

Rise of Legends is exactly like Rise of Nations in every way, except that the sides are much more different. All the features in the original are in Legends.

RoL/RoN are nothing like Black & White though.

You can't say that. From what I saw from the video review on Rise of Nations, you can conquer opposing factions by just building wonders and other great monuments that win over opposing factions population to accumalate to your own. In that sense of not having to fight to win is a lot like Black and White.

The game is nothing like Black and White.. RoL isn't worth your time imo. You want a game like B&W, then try B&W2.. there are no games that are like it.

RoL has a linear story to it that drives the gameplay, it actually has a cohesive single player campaign thats similar to Age of Mythology in how you experience each of the factions involved. RoN Conquer the World mode is a lot more open, and while there are scenario's that tell some story, overall the game is like a Risk RTC (and thats a good thing imo).

That's what I was getting at, the Conquer the world mode, is that not in Rise of Legends?

oh god, okay. here DUHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I understand the gameplay has virtually no similiarities to Black and White, but the aspect of not having to win through brute force and winning over other factions through impressing them is infact like Black and white. This is what i'm looking for, an RTS that is not just nothing but just an RTS. I already played B&W2 obviously i MENTIONED THE SERIES.

why don't people read more than a god damn sentance before posting WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY. When you read books for school do you just read the first paragraph for each chapter and then proceed to the next and repeat?

Wth is the matter with you people.

not really..it's like a mini-conquer the world mode with a story arc over it. there is some freedom, but nowhere near as much as RoN. it's fun to play once, thats abouyt it for me tho.
