Game Information:

- "Risen 2 is a rich experience with a lot of depth, giving you the freedom you desire to pretty much do as you please. It has some funny dialogue and you can tell it doesn't want to take itself too seriously 100% of the time. The pirate theme is pulled off really well and hardcore RPG fans will have a lot of fun while playing and really immerse themselves within the world. It's certainly a different experience starting out as a character who only has the clothes on his back and a sword to keep him protected rather than starting out as the "white knight" ****persona who has to save the princess from peril. At some point in there lives most gamers have played pirates when they were younger or thought of what it would be like to be a traditional pirate. Now with the upcoming release of Risen 2 : Dark Waters you can do just that."

- Game will be more open then Risen 1 was, starts off linear but then when you get a pirate ship you can travel back and forth between the many islands

- You will have the ability to have a monkey companion

- Made by the Makers of Gothic1, Gothic2, Gothic3 and Risen (not the horrible Gothic4)

- You will still have to listen very closely to conversations about quests, no magical lines leading you to the next mission, gotta listen and explore!

- The player's decision which guild to play for influences a lot of things, such as the skills, the hero's companions, and the storyline, which increases the game's replay value. For example, the player may hear about a certain island, or some NPCs might be friendly or unfriendly. However, you should really discover for yourselves which events develop differently.

One of my friends got into the beta and said it runs very well for him ;)

I am excited, liked Risen more then most rpgs of the last 5 years :cool:

Dont know exactly what it is about Risen and Drakensang both, but to me those are very underrated rpgs (maybe its because they are really some of the few rpgs with an old shcool vibe to them? I dont know).

I like the idea that you can use your compannion monkey and control him, send him in threw high windows to steal or unlock doors. Think I will be more of a thief on my first playthrough :P

No problem at all, I didnt know to much about the game other then its made by the same people who did Gothic2 and Risen (two of my fav rpgs) and that its got a pirate theme. Thought I would get a bit of info and screenshots/videos together after looking around :P

It's a bit under the radar here, but the German gaming press is already getting crazy about it. There are constantly new previews posted somewhere. Can't wait for the game myself, Piranha Bytes are great developers and they proved with Risen that they can deliver fairly bug-free games.

Seems like outside of NA the PB games are pretty popular but here in NA its like they rarely get talked about, not as much money spent in marketting or production values I guess can do that sometimes which is a shame because ive always thought Gothic/Risen where some of the last remaining TRUE rpg games.

They actually got back the Gothic rights now (after Gothic4) :)

Good idea with the rum to, I think ill need to get some Rum for this like I did Whiskey for RDR when that came out :P

Someone sent me a beta key on steam for Risen 2 beta, having a blast so far! Check out the screenshot thread if you want to see some screenshots ive taken.

Almost wish I didnt play the beta now though, as its made me want the game ever more now! :P

I know ME3 is coming very soon, but damnit I want meh Risen2 more! :P

Hmm.. for whatever reason that interview vid doesn't work for me. Nice screens though. Not that I needed convincing... Risen was a blast to play, so this is already a day 1 buy.

Not long to go now and we will be playing pirates in a Risen/Gothic world! Can't wait! The beta was alot of fun, looking forward to the full game!

Day 1 for me to, I got it preordered on steam ;)

I still haven't finished the first Risen, mostly because this PC I have isn't great for gaming. :( So I doubt it will handle Risen 2. :/

Anyway, the game is looking good so far, and I really like the pirate theme. I watched a trailer with some gameplay footage, and it wasn't too bad, though the reticle for firing a gun was a tad annoying.

Exact opposite as I experienced. Anyone who liked Risen or Gothic2 I think will enjoy this one, feels like a much improved version of Risen but with Pirate theme.

I just pre-ordered Risen 2 on Amazon. Let's hope it's good! I am itching for another good RPG to play.

preordered the game, played it, Windows 7 is not supported.,plays bad. Definitely not ready for the market unless your playing on a very old computer. Wait for five or six patches
