Well, since you stated the release date as 06 for Medieval,I'm assuming you mean Medieval 2-which would be my choice. Great game, better graphics, and if you get the latest exp. you get Shogun included.

I'd go with Rome in a heartbeat. I didn't like Medieval 2 at all. Bugs, extremely slow paced battles due to only 10 out of 80 guys are fighting, balance issues (archers can kick anyones ass in close combat, even the most hardened full armored knights) etc.

Get Rome: Total War.

But you can order a collection of all the Total War games (Except Medieval 2) called "Total War Eras" at Amazon.co.uk.

Its only £17.98 , and includes Shogon, Medieval, and Rome, and all the expansions for all the games.

Its a great deal. :D

I'd say Medieval 2. Amazing graphics and enjoyable time period, plus most of bugs and glitches Bounce above me is complaining about were actually fixed in a massive 600mb patch released a while back making it a very stable game too. Still got its faults, to be sure, but I just like it better for various reasons.

Get the entire series.:P

Shogun, Medieval + xpack, rome+xpack and medieval 2 are all top notch games. You cant really reccomend any of them over each other as a whole game.

Go for Rome Total War

I am playing it now while I wait for Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms (hopefully it will fix some of the issue with Medieval II)
