With the latest updates, I haven't really experienced much of the bugs reported by others. As far as what I like about the game, a fantastic storyline(not your typical bed time story-fairytale for children), a very eerie and dark atmosphere that looks, sounds and feels realistic to the time-line. It also offers a new, innovative combat mechanics system that deviates away from the typical click and watch attack routines of other RPGs. The NPCs(non-player characters) bring in side missions with very believable problems. Gathering resources such as flower, plants, animal body parts, etc to be used in alchemy formulas was also a real plus for me. The atmosphere sounds are set perfectly in the environment you happen to be in during that time. The soundtrack alone almost makes it a must have game. This is a very mature game, I do not recommend playing in the presence of small children. ;) Also, if you decide to get it, try to get the enhanced edition as it offers a bunch more content which adds to the already great story-line, an enhancement of the graphics, load times are reduced significantly. and it comes with music inspired by the Witcher as well as the awesome soundtrack and a dvd showing the making of the game.

Yea, I think I'm going to try and get a hold of this game, it sounds great.
By the way, you said you liked how the combat deviates from point and watch, I know exactly what you mean by this.
Since you recommended something to me, I'll recommend something to you.
Have you ever played Vagrant Story for PS1? It really is an amazing game, but I think it is only available on PS1. This game also deviates very much so from ordinary combat. In this game you press a button to bring up a globe around you (the size of the globe depends on your weapon), the world freezes when you do this, and if an enemy is within the globe, you can target body parts on the enemy. Each body part has a hit %, and when you hit them, you can chain attacks together by hitting a different button at just the right time of contact with your weapon. And there are three buttons to hit with, square, x, or triangle.
So if you first attack with square, you could hit triangle or x to attack again, each button having it's own effect attached to it (i.e. poison, burning, leeching health, etc), and you can actually chain infinitely until the target is dead if you are good enough.
Anyway, thank you for the recommendation, The Witcher sounds great, and if you have access to a PS1, I HIGHLY recommend Vagrant Story.
