I have playedDeus Ex: Invisible War which I thought was very good and then I realized that it was a sequel to Deus Ex. Now I want to play Deus Ex as I have heard its much better than its successor but not right now. I have also played Fallout 3 and have sarted to realize I really like RPGs. Which ones are good to play?

The Witcher

Kotor 1 and 2

Planescape Torment

I would recommend fallout 1 and 2 but that game is pretty hardcore so it might be a bit hard to get into.

Before you get jumped Fallout 3 and Deus Ex:Invisible War are considered vastly inferior to their predecessors by some. To the topic, get Deus Ex if you liked IW. The game is much harder but also thought provoking.

I'll toss out some games that are similar (have the FPS/RPG mix)

System Shock 2

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines (patch this)

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl (patch this)

If you want something that you can really get into try one of the isometric infinity engine games. Baldur's Gate is the easiest of them to get into as the others have a heavy lean towards action or dialogue while Baldur's Gate (and 2) provide a good mix up. If your looking for something more in line of the easier RPGs that aren't very thought provoking and "easy" to get into then try Diablo II.

Star Wars KOTOR (I liked both of them)
Fable the Lost Chapters (finished it yesterday for the second time... I can't say I've completed much games and even less twice)
S.T.A.L.K.E.R (both of them are rather good)
Oblivion
Morrowind

those are the ones I recommend you.. there are others that'll be recommend by other people but that I didn't enjoy that much...
Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines
System Shock (both)
Mass Effect
Hellgate London

well that's about it... oh and don't forget that there are 5 addons to fallout 3

edit: 4 of those that I said are allrdy in the 2 previous posts... thus seconded by me..

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines (patch this)

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl (patch this)

Whiteblade999

I second these suggestions, based on what you enjoy I can't see you going wrong with them.

You need Oblivion and Morrowind. I wish I could go back in time just to cherish those moments again... Also, you'd probably love Mass Effect.

i recently got stalker shadow of chernobyl and clear sky. all i can say is that these games are really good. the visual is mind blowing, if you have the rig for it then youre good to go. One thing i have to mention though is that theyre abit buggy but if you can bypass the bugs then youll enjoy the game.

also try Mass effects. the story and gunplay is really good. Mass effect 2 will be out in 4-5 months. its a good time to start as you will be able to transfer your saved file to mass effect 2

The Witcher EE Director's Cut

Mass Effect (keep your saved games for Mass Effect 2)

Drakensang (old-school RPG like Baldaur's Gate).

I'm a big Stalker fan and also RPG player and you can't really say that Stalker is an RPG cause the way you influenced NPC's is minor compared to other games, and except the different endings on SoC there realy is no RP in the game
