rpg or first person shooters!

can somone tell me why rpgs are the faze? what happen to the old skool fps guys ,were are the guys that buy a new fps play for a few months then leave b4 all the cheats come in you guys still out there?

i got a copy for $10 bucks its allright but i m more of a gun fan then arrows and axes and i hate magic!! i got stuck at this dock it had like ghost like guys that i couldnt kill with mele attack that pissed me off put me off the game

I get a new fps game every couple of months,  getting Tabula Rasa and Huxley.3abden

i m looking at quake wars (waiting for demo if it shows 64 player servers i will buy it) , crysis (prob dl it), ut3 (buy ut fan all the way) and huxley (buy looks/sounds pretty sweet)  and thats prob the order they will be released

I'm a hardcore RPG fan and doesn't miss a single good title, but they are long and psychicly encumbring (if I can say it that way) so I often relax with the much brainless shooters in between titles. I enjoy both :).

I'm an Old-school PC gamer (from before there were FPS'es, so I'm still more partial towards RPGs than towards FPS'es, since in my beginning days there were lots of RPGs and no FPS'es).

But I do like to play both.

Of course, RPG's have been tainted these last years with those so-called Action RPG's like Diablo and other no-brainers or those awful mixes of RPG & RTS 

FPS's > Role playing games   *First with acronym rpg!

*Rocket Propelled Grenades > Role Paying Games

Stalker and Oblivion are ace (the former being super ace)

Though I don't actually like vanilla RPGs at all, except for the Kingdom of Loathing.

FPS is my favourite genre so I'll go with that. 

Considering I still play MUD's - Gemstone IV

RPG's for me please.

Although my favorite kind of games are space sims

StarTopia, Space Colony etc.

Some of the best games are a little of both  -- Prefer FPS myself

I play FPS most. Finished almost 150 of those. My favorite genre. Beside this i play action, rally and bit adventure, RTS. But no RPG! Only RPG i've finished was Dark Messiah of Might and Magic but i guess this is more FPS too.
