rts games with epic battles, medieval or asian dynasty stuff, non TW or AOE

if u know me which i assume very few do haha.... i love my rts games. though im in search of something fresh with epic cinematic style, awesome battles. ive plaed my total war games with a liking and age of empires is a hands down win for fun. other games such as warcraft or the battle for middle earth games have the kinda battles i enjoy. empire earth and rise of nations ive played and had fun as well. are there any RTS games that are non modern or sci fi [such as starcraft or command n conquer or company of heros] with nice beatiful battle styles and animation. any help or answers would be very much appreciated =]

Mount & Blade is kinda RTS. Kinda. I mean you can have hundreds of men and strategically command them in real time. dlindenb2000

American Conquest and Cossacks 2 can have very epic battles , BUT they are pretty old and dont have very good animations, still , they are some of my fav rts's :)

Theres King Arthur: The RPG Wargame. Its basically a medieval fantasy TW.

Since what you are asking if so specific you mayjust want to look into mods for Total War.

American Conquest and Cossacks 2 can have very epic battles , BUT they are pretty old and dont have very good animations, still , they are some of my fav rts's :)

OMG why did you mention American Conquest? Now I am digging through my stuff looking for it because I want to play it now :( Damn

I loved that game... The battles were scary in size... When I first got it I was overwhelmed... I went from RTS games with a few dozen troops (C&C, BFME) or maybe a few hundreds of troops to a thousand (TW)... In American Conquest you can have 16,000 troops all in real time... It can get pretty crazy... Hell there is one mission in the American Revolution campaign where you start with like 4,000 militia troops and 6,000 regular troops to attack a couple of British forts along the coast... I started that mission and went "DAAAAAAAAAAAYUUUUUUMM!!!!"

Also a recommendation for OP, ever heard of Black and White 2? It is an RTS where you play as a god...

AC is still one of my fav games . so much fun to play with friends ... sadly its very overlooked :(
