I'm looking for some decent RTS games for the PC, they can be from any year, as long as it doesn't precede 2003, as I'm pretty sure I already have enough vintage RTS games clogging up my collection (they're practically all clones of around five different games anyway).
These are games I've already been looking at, Supreme Commander, Company of Heroes, Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War, and Rise of Nations (I hate Rise of Legends).
Now what I'm looking for is not an argument on which games is better, but just a list of Strategy games since I'm decidely poor at finding them and then judging how good they are. I just want a few suggestions, not any rambling stories about how Company of Heroes totally "pwns" Supreme Commander or some other nonsense.
Try to decide what time period or what kind of RTS you are looking for. Dawn of War and SupCom are futuristic RTSs, Rise of Nations is a AoE look alike game in which you spend time gathering resources and advancing through ages (from dark to modern day). Company of Heroes is a WW2 game.
im a hardcore RTS player. so heres a list of awsome RTS games
The Total War series, (turnbased map real time battles) (biggest army batttles in gaming history) Dawn of War with both exp. (Game of the Year) (awsome finishing moves) Warcraft 3 (A forbidden>
I already own AOE3, and I'm starting to think people find Company of Heroes to be a very good game.
How taxing is the game performance-wise? I can't run the demo of Supreme Commander that well, could I expect good results from CoH? I meet all of the minimum system requirements obviously (I can also run AOE3 on all high settings with little slowdown).
