on the home screen of minecraft, I click on the "mods and textures option and when i click on the "open texture pack folder" i get an error that says "RunDLL error loading url.dll Access is denied". Does anyone have any suggestions? do i need to change any of my security settings?

I didn't get a response on my first post so help would be much appreciated.

well ussually when things say access denied it means that your dont hvae sufficent privalges on your account in order to run it. so you need to run it as an admin. but try downloading and installing this mod http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=252531. it may help aswell.

on my desktop i rightclick on minecraft and click run as administrator but I still can't open texture packs or mods. If it helps, I also tried an alternate method of installing them but I get an error when trying to open the minecraft jar file. Should I try uninstalling and reinstalling minecraft?

that should work... but download the mod that i put in my other post that one alwasy works for me. it allows you to use the mods and texture packs folder to install them. so you dont have to go anywhere near the jar file. all you have to do is download and hit run it will do everything else on its own. then all you need to do is put the texture pack that you want inside the folder and then it shouuld work
