running dos games on xp

so ive gotten really bored and miss old dos games, mainly doom series and heretic/hexen. duke and some other apogee ones might be fun like rott but i cant get them to run in xp, anyone know of a way to get them to run with sound and mouse and all them goodies?

man i grew up on dos, so commands and switches are like a second language to me lol, gui are overrated anyways, just pretty resource hogs.

dosbox=amazing software, esp considering the price....free. I can't give those guys enough props
