Russian in BFBC2

Anyone know Russian well enough to know what the Russian side says/screams during action? Just curious if it's actual Russian or just random phrases the devs stuck in the game. I have heard them, on several occasions, screaming, "Stolichnaya". I know that's a brand of Vodka but I'm not sure if the word actually means anything.

The phrases the soldiers yell are in fact in Russian. Most of the phrases are copies of what the American side says.

I doubt DICE would just stick in words that did not exist. Everyone knows Russia loves their Vodka. They love it, like many like Big Macs here ewwww. So for a Russian person yelling out a name of a Vodka is quite possible.millerlight89

I have a bottle of that right now. Decided to try something other than Smirnoff. Last time I do that, because Stolichnaya sucks! Anyway, I have no idea what they're saying, but I've always enjoyed the Russian voice-overs. Especially the Russian Titan Computer voice in BF2142.

It is in fact proper Russian because I do hear similiar words from CoD 4 and a few other games with Russians in 'em.

A lot of native Russian speakers on EA's UK forums (which is where DICE watches community feedback most prominently) have criticized DICE's grammar and overall translation in Bad Company 2. No surprise, really, DICE has always been highly criticized for how well they do foreign language voice overs. But in any case, apparently some of the things the soldiers say are crude or non-sensical (i.e., they're broken or impractical in the same sense that something put through Google translate would be in English). Same goes for the Russian printed on various things in the game world.

Does anyone know what the word that sounds like "Brajimnika" or "Brejimneka" or whatever you get it as, means? Gotten curious after hearing it in a lot of games.

I think it's more something like "prativnika," (or sometimes "prativnik") and having played plenty of 2142 it seems to be basically like saying "enemy." For instance, they'll say "Tank prativnika!" when you spot a tank sometimes, which I assume directly translates to "Enemy tank!" in English.

I think they used in the 'Ja vizhu protivnika" context. Translated it means "I see the enemy" and I heard it like few hundred times in Bad Company 2. I even thought the AI is bugged.Crimsader
