Can the Gigabyte EP45-UD3R which supports 45nm core 2 duo can i use with new core 2 quad? And if possible which S series Core 2 Quad should i get Q9550S,Q9400S or Q8200S as my original plan was getting core 2 duo E8400 3Ghz. And what GPU should i combo with for the core 2 quad. Not going to overclock and nto sure which to go as Antec 902 has increse might get either NXTZ Tempest or Antec 900 depending on which is cheaper.

wat exactly will u be doing? its really hard 2 tell by ur comments, if its gaming or anything then the e8400 should run just fine, but if its something like video editing, which is a bit more CPU intensive, then ur best bet would b the quad cores, probably the q8200 (value for money)

Sorry i cant explain in more detail, but u need 2 tell us a bit more info

I just notice that Core i7 920would be cheaper then the Q9400S if i compare the Q9400S build with the Core i7 920 which should i go? and how much difference in price? Or should I go with AMD Phenom II X4 or II X3? How much difference would i get between this 4 or i'm better off with a core 2 duo?

Well I have a q6600, and gaming is fine on it (also have 260s in SLI :P),

i haven't even experienced AMD yet, so i can't tell u that, but if it was my money i would go for the Core I7, if u really are saying it is cheaper than a Q9400

The one i'mcomparing is the core 2 quad S series and the core i7 920 but if a whole build the core i7 920 would be much more expensive

Wait for Core i7 until Q2 this year... Well that's my plan...
