Is it safe to upgrade to windows vista home premium?  I am getting a brand new dell dimension with vista home premium so there is not going to be an xp to vista conversion which I heard dosnt go over so well.  Are there many bugs or are the bugs just found by nitpicky people?

No, we need to get a new computer.  This one is from 2000, 7 years old it wont be able to run vista, it currently is running windows xp home edition 2000.  Where just sick of this computer and want to get a new one.  Its just a bonus that where getting vista home premium.  So is it really buggy or is that home basic?

well if you dont plan on doing a lot of gaming then yes go ahead im saying this because sometimes games simply dont work or have poor performance on vista.

of course in the next few months to a year all these problems will be fixed. vista will be the standard windows xp was just like this when it first came out.

just to clarify there should be no reason the conversion would have any problems. basicly all copies of vista contain everything from home basic to ultimate and ur key unlucks a certain version stored on it. so basicly doing this conversion will turn ur windows xp into the vista, this ofcourse makes you lose xp but you get vista for cheaper.
