this laptop comes out next month and this is my customized version. It will cost roughly $4700 but this is a real beast when it comes to gaming so I am told. The following are the specs... (I am thinking about going down to 6 gigs of ram instead of 8, only reason I went to 8 is because someone told me it would be very unstable). Judging from the specs is this a good gaming laptop?

I'd say so seeing as those stats beat the majority of DESKTOP rigs in this forums.. $4700 is just ridiculous though. I suggest you try to get some reviews on the model the laptop may have some serious cooling problems...

No kidding MonieurX. Though, I'm sure there are CAD and graphic design people who need this kind of mobile power, he just wants it for gaming probably. I would just build a desktop and get a decent gaming capable laptop. An Asus G50 series can be had for under $1000.

unless you absolutly have to have a laptop, a desktop would be a better choice for games, especially since the new cards will be out soon. then as everyone said get a cheaper laptop thats decent at games. the new desktop cards will be choice.

A gaming laptop is an oxymoron onto itself imo, and im guessing that even though it is a beast at gaming, it will overheat big time during gameplay:?. Definitely go for a desktop, much cheaper and can get all that or better in a desktop:D.

Im in the military so I cant get a desktop because I have no where to put it... Is this computer overkill? I mean could I go down a little bit like instead of 8gigs of ram go down to 6 gigs and stuff life that? I just need a very good gaming laptop and this laptop has a ton of power plush its using that arctic silver 5 stuff thats reduces heating signifigantly. What does everyone think?

I am going to drop down to 6GB of memory because it is going to cost $450 dollars less and if you think of it $450 for just two more gigs of ram isnt really worth it. I am a little nervous though because I know who guy who says that 6GB of ram with the two 320GB hard drives would be unstabble while others are saying it will be fine... does it really matter ram wise? Because I don't want to pay the extra cash if I don't have to.

This is what I want. This costs around $500 less that my previous setup and I am only sacrificing 2 gigs of ram. What does everyone think?

6 gigs is plenty of ram easilly. it looks like a powerful laptop, you probably only need one hard drive also and you don't really need blue tooth but you will max any game at 1680x1050 for sure. it looks good just a bit spendy.

If this thing weighs more than 10 pounds (which I assume it does) then its def not a laptop.

Your right I prolly don't even need the extra haddrive but its a nice option I think and its only like 70 bucks for dual 320GB hdds. Pretty cool I think. I think this is like 12 pounds, its more of a desktop replacement if anything else but since I am in the military I cant use a desktop so I need to get a laptop that is just as good as a desktop.

I know that this is expensive but I have been told by numerous people that if I want a great laptop for gaming that I am going to have to pay $3000+. This computer that I am getting is equal in power to Alienwares M17x and the only differences I can see is that Sager offers more hard drives, Sager doesn't have a backlight keyboard and Alienware for the same setup would cost $200+ more.
