If you're at all into classic point'n'click adventure games (or just funny games in general), it's certainly worth checking out. The first season is a little slow, but the second season alone is easily worth that price, imo.

You will be stuck at just a few points, especially in season 1 which is the easier, weaker of both. Anyway you should play both in order as the story is somewhat connected. And each episode gets gradually better. And yes, the humour makes it worthwhile enough for me to say that everyone should play this game.
How's the humor in this game? Is it aimed more at kids or is smart enough that adults will find it funny as well?

There's a good mix of clever jokes and slapstick humour, and I remember there being a fair amount of innuendo and older pop-culture references as the series went along. So yes, adults will find it funny.
I'll say that there are a few dud episodes here and there - such as the second episode of each season - but hopefully they won't discourage people from playing.
