Is it possible people actually enjoy a shooter on a console (no mouse!!! DAMN) more than they do on the PC?? Or are there significant changes in the PS3, features unique to the PS3 I don't know of that make this game real good?
Otherwise, I smell serious fanboyism here from the side of the reviewer's.

The ps3 version got a higher score because its compared to other ps3 games. Which means that the standard of pc games is much higher than console games. So its easier for a good game on a console to get a high score on gamespot. Do you think any console shooter can match pc shooters ???

Yep... it's like Oblivion; PC standards are higher. Although the PC version only got one point worse, and that was before the new ratings system kicked in.

I never really cared about the rating system too much anyways.

It's because there are A LOT better games on PC than PS3, therefore, it's harder to get high scores on PC due to the large amount of good games. Also, the PC version is a technical nightmare. ;)

R6V wasn't optimized at all for the PC. It was a straight port. Even my 8800 gtx only gets like 45 frames per second on average and messing with the settings barely helps. Also, no native widescreen support is inexcusable. Still a fun game tho...

R6 isn't optimized? you can play it with 7950GX2 on max without getting fps dropped

It played smooth on a 7950Gt also. No voice chat and a buggy online multiplayer explains the higher score on consoles. I think i will buy it for the 360 this week since the price dropped and the map packs are free.

Reason for higher scores on the console versions of R6:V:

1. PC version is a straight up port of the 360 version that is terribly unoptimized.
2. PC version lacks substantial scaling options. Only options are shadow and lighting quality and screen resolution.
3. PC version has no native widescreen support whatsoever. Of course 3rd party mods have fixed that (doesn't work for the MP though!)
4. PC version has no persistence online charactar creation. It's straight up multiplayer with none of the ranking elements that allow you to consistenly gain better weapons and armor, which IMHO is the biggest problem with the PC version of Vegas.

R6V is such a great game but it could of been so much better. I still have it on my PC and play the SP often. It's the most intense close quarter combat I have had in a FPS ever. i wish someone would patch it and support it...I think this game had the potential to be king.

This may just be me, but I felt the RSV plays better with a contoller. Not in terms of shooting, but squeezing a trigger button to hug a wall and move an analog stick to slink around just feels more realistic.

Note: Ps3 is keyboard and mouse compatible.
