Does it come with a magnifying glass?
1368x768 seems like the perfect resolution for 13.3"/14" laptops...

One of the nice changes in Win 8 is MS has significantly improved how Windows scales on high-res screens, so it shouldn't be an issue.
Not sure how Samsung "pwned" (seriously? people still say that?) Apple though, considering this is just a prototype while every news source and their dog has Apple releasing a 227ppi MBP 13 with Retina within the next few months.

I was just kidding about the 225 vs 220 thing I am not nearly into the whole pixel density craze. But for anyone who wants it this becomes the definite choice because windows 8 >>>>>>>>> OS X.[QUOTE="Slow_Show"]

Retina? Doesn't Apple have patents for that?
NailedGR
Retina is actually an LG thing.
Error 37: Sarcasm detection missing.
if anyone has had the chance to check out the current series 9 13", 1600X900 matte screen is DEAD SEXY.
samsung is going to continue being a stick up apples arse, and apples typical response will be to sue.
'You want to release a laptop with a high resolution screen? I'm sorry, only we are allowed to do that.'
Apple taking samsung to court am confirmed.
Samsung actually hasnt put a garbage LCD on any of their ultrabooks so far. i mean in general apple laptops always have better lcds than other laptops and it' still true[QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"]i am happy that apple is actually pushing all the other laptop manufactures to not put garbage lcds on laptopsGambler_3
[QUOTE="jakes456"]My word do you have anything positive to say about anything?! Really every one of your posts seem to be saying something negative what the hell. Ever heard of a troll? :Pmarketing gimmick you can't even tell the difference. retina bs give me a break.

This push towards higher resolutions would make more sense to me if we had 4k resolutions on 27+ inch desktop monitors. Alas, we don't.Guppy507No point adopting 4k since you can't even receive 1080p TV yet due to bandwidth issues.

I know what you're saying but if they still can't broadcast 1080p it's going to be a long time before they can broadcast 4k since it's over 4 times the resolution.

To be fair, that's probably why they're expensive. If the market was suddenly flooded with Apple-esque LCD's you'd see the price come tumbling down. As more Manufacturers up the resolution, it should be expected to due production that the price for said panels will decrease.
They are also much more expensive.[QUOTE="Gambler_3"]

Apple laptop LCD's arent anything special other than the retina macbook, the ipad 2 has a better screen than the regular macbook so apple isnt exactly helping matters either. The display is NOT the reason they are expensive, it's just good quality TN panels nothing special even a $200 desktop monitor is better.[QUOTE="Mozuckint"]

most laptop lcds like the y580's default display have a contrast of 200:1 or 300:1
