I'm on the lookout for a new Full HD tv lcd to replace my old one, i've found these 2 whichfits my budget.

Just wondering which is better then the other. And if 100hz is essential for gaming? as these are only 50hz i think..

LG Full HD LCD

Samsung Full HD LCD

Thanks :)

I would go with a 52" 1080p Samsung, since they're only about $1500 on sale now...

As for the refresh rate, 60Hz (Hz = per second) is fine. I can't imagine needing more than 60 fps... Or achieving 120fps at 1080p for that matter. Atleast for some time...

^^^This and shop at Amazon or Newegg for MUCH better deals. $1500 can get you a lot of TV from those sites.

100hz isnt need for gamming and Samsung often have a larger warranty periond compared to that of LG in Australia (I'm asuming that you are in Australia since you linked to Australian web sites)

That's USD. Deals like these have been in local sales papers recently. At the moment, BestBuy.com has 52" 1080p Samsung LCD's for $1499. But I've even seen 120Hz 52" 1080p models priced this low as well. Just look around at the major store websites. You'll find all sorts of 1080p LCD's for dirt cheap. Hell, I've seen the 40" range 1080p LCD's priced close to $500...

refresh rate seems to matter most in gaming.

Refresh rate is all about fast moving/changing images. I would strongly recomend the 100HZ.

We cant help you with links since most of us are in the U.S.

look around for what you need, but I dont recomend wasting the $$$ for 1080P unless you get above 37"

Have a look at the good guys. If you pay cash you can sometimes get a good deal. I got my samsung from there at $300 less than What anyone else was prepared to part with one.

I honestly can not see a difference above 40hz while gaming, i mean if i stared at the screen and looked closely i can see a difference, but in a fast paced game you dont do that, so it useless, sorta like AA above 4x,
