If you have ever played FEAR, how scary do you think it is out of 10? Is it so scary you can't beat it for "FEAR" of having to have a heart transplant becasue you got so scared? If you can, leave some stories of being "FEAR"ful of playing FEAR, please do so.

If I had to rate it on scariness I would probably rate it about a 6-7. It's only really scary if you are playing it in the dark with headphones on.

F.E.A.R. was mildly scary the first time I played through it, but it gets really predictable, really fast. Extraction Point was a ton more scary than the original, though.

I didn't think it was scary. It was predictable and that kind of ruined the experience for me at least.

Yeah, it would have been a lot scarier if it wasn't so obvious when something scary was going to happen. Pretty much every time you heard that crackling noise in your radio, or if the lights flicker, then you know something is going to jump out at you.

I don't get scared the easy, but I'm still waiting for a game which can freak me out like this thing here. This is the only thing that scared the hell out of me since I was a child, mainly because I didn't expect it. That's when I get scared... but all horor games are pretty predictably, mostly because you know things are gonna jump in front of you... hey there's another one, hey there's another one etc.

i give it 2/10, some of those sounds are really creepy during the cutscenes. I tried the game without sound and it isn't freaky at all, kinda like halo.

FEAR definately had its moments, and if it could maintain the scariness through out the whole game it would have rivaled other games.  Unfortunately, the majority of the time the game was, at the most, creepy.  And for the rest of the time the gameplay was rather conventional since you were fighting regular soldiers.

The "dream" sequences were very scary, as was every time you came across Alma or her destruction.  And the zero-G ninjas were really scary at first until you killed one and realized it was a human.  Sorry, nothing really scary about a human being.  The wraithes were also scary, but once you realised they didnt do that much damage and died in one shot, its like "ok, so they do a little more damage than a stiff breeze, big woop."

Out of 10, I give FEAR a 7, with a 9 for a few moments of the game.

There should be a "scare factor" option, kinda like difficulty option. Lowest - Minimal Scare. Highest - Oh **** I can't play through this whole scary *** game!!!

Yeah i would give it probably an 8.It wasn't always scary of course because a lot of the time is spent in intense combat, but, when it seemed like somethin freaky was about to happen, oh yeah, i dreaded going around every corner.I wouldn't say the game is predictable in the slightest, because, even when it seemed almost inevitable that something scary was gonna happen, what actually DID happen was always a surprise, and had me saying "HOLY CRAP!!!" and many other things. Also, every time i saw one of those tank guys, i got really freaked out, because i knew i was gonna be in for one hell of a fight(i played it on hard). Not as scary as other games, like Undying or RE, but definitely a scary game.

not scary at all

AVP 2(marine campaign) is still the scariest game I've played. Exploring the huge dungeons of Daggerfall and hearing those screams was pretty scary as well. Honestly, I didnt find a single game in recent times that was even remotely scary.

it's an 8. Scariest game I played was the most recent Alone in the Dark game, which I couldn't play unless it was full light outside, and I had all my windows and lights on. Same way with FEAR, it's just hard to play it unless I have those things going for me .... the gameplay is awesome though.

I give it an 8, playing alone at night with a surround sound hookup. Condemned for 360 is so much scarier though.

It has some creepy moments, but doesn't come even close to Doom 3, that game really scared the **** out of me. I'll give FEAR a 7/10.

f.e.a.r made me jump a couple times, but i never felt scared once - as horror goes, f.e.a.r is very weak in my opinion

but the same is true of most games, and films for that matter (so i don't judge it harsly, and it is awesome as a shooter), being shocked just isn't very enjoyable for me - and that's the best that most horror is capable of, making you jump - the little girl jumps out and i gasp and my brain goes oh sh'it and my heartrate increases for maybe 30 seconds, but that is not fear - it's something else entirely - i don't really enjoy it, i find it to be about the weakest and most derivative horror technique around, and that most horror relies on it, well, it really annoys me...

compared with stuff like system shock 2, silent hill and aliens vs predator, games that, for me at least, evoke genuine fear - that real you are about to die so get the **** out of here real self-preservation instinct feeling, f.e.a.r feels like a stroll down a well-lit, non-threatening street in a rich, but not so rich there's likely to be muggings part of town

if i had to give it a number, i'd say 4/10 - the shock techniques are at least well placed and well paced - and generally unpredictable - but scary? no way... i reallu enjoy actual fear, so having shock passed off as fear really annoys me

I played it with a set of headphones on the sound freaked me out .I know there are certain sounds that can cause anxiety in people they must have used it in the game.

Also Amla freaked me out as the little girl. When i was playing the game my niece slept over that night and at 3am she woke up needing to pee in the dark she looked a lot like amla .

scare factor for me 7/10

If you where scared of playing F.E.A.R. then you should stay away from Resident Evil 4 and Silent hill. F.E.A.R. was very bland when you got use to the AI. By the end you wait for them not they for you.

They should have made it all much darker. More like Doom3 or the last few missions. 5/10 on scare-factor. It was just too predictable after you had played through the first few missions.

RE4 didn't scare me at all, even in the dark with the door shut. F.E.A.R. scared the crap out of me in the first level, and continued to do so.

Playing scary games in daylight with lots of people around you kinda ruins the whole point of the games. I bet most people who say "shrug.. that wasn't scary" played it in broad daylight with their mommy padding their heads.
