Alright. I work at office depot and last night while i was sorting out the clearece tags/prices i saw that we were selling a Samsung SyncMaster S23B300 LED 1080P computer monitor for 20 bucks. So i bought it right there on the spot like a impulse buy. Now why is it 20 bucks you may ask? because there is a nice set of scratches right in the middle of the screen. Look a pictires below. One i took at night with my iphone using a flash to make the scratches more visable. and the other i just took now after i cleaned off all the oil and dust.

Is there any method i can fix the scratches. I was also trying to figure out if i can just replace the film that covers the led screen ( if there is any). The Monitor works perfet and the scratches are not very noticable when you have it on. I just want to see if i can fix it or atlease make it a little bit better.

The scratch? i didnt do it. i guess so teenager from the highschool near by though he could be cool if he scratched the poor monitor,

The purchase. like i said, i was in the middle of putting up all the clearance tags and i saw that in there and i asked the manager if i could see it and he said sure. I we tested it out together and it worked . I instantly purchased it. total came to $19.61 with a 10 percent associate discount.

Depending on how deep they are, you can replace the front sheet.

It might just be the anti glare coating layer.

You can always try to find a cheap or broken one on eBay that doesn't have any scratches and use it for spare parts. I just did that with my laser mouse. My youngest son scratched up the laser lens with a screwdriver, so I bought one that worked off of eBay for $8 and switched the lenses...

Buy hardware for dirt cheap, find parts for more money... unless you are very tech savvy and now how to fix things... please don't do it.

im probable just going to leave it because i cant see it when the monitor is on. Im pretty tech savvy, i have replaced laptop screen and iPhone( 3g,4s,4) screens before. The problem with this one is i don't want to open it up unless im a 100 percent sure that the scratched part is indeed not attached to to led screen. IF its a removable layer then i can find a replacement for it.
