I've got a sae gate external hard drive 1tb, quite new maybe month or two old. I'm using windows xp and half the drive is wbfs and other half is ntfs, at least it should be. When i format the part of the drive that isn't wbfs, it will say format complete but when i try to put files on there they will start to copy but then the time left till its finished starts to increase then the file wont copy. I tried reformatting that part of the drive multiple times and defragmenting it, but i can't seem to get it to work. I'm assuming this is an input/output error but I'm not sure how to fix it.
Any other information needed i will provide. I'm mostly trying to put music and movies on the ntfs part of the drive. I know someone on here will be able to help me.
Thanks for any help you can give!

Run Seatools, rule out defective sectors.
