Search bar

So I've installed the Internet Explorer 8. It came with the google search bar on the upper right corner, as usual. I, idiot, removed the other ones, since I've always used google. The thing is, I'm a biology major, and consequently there are things in my history of which I'm not particularly proud (both involving biology and not). I've gotten intomore than a few embarrassing situations of when somebody was using my computer and the stupid search bar provided pages inmy history that matched part of what was being typed.

Is there a way for me to disable this? I just can't figure it out. Or maybe another search bar? Where can I donwload one? I can't seem tofind it.

I don't know about Internet Explorer but in Firefox you go to Tools > Options > Privacy and uncheck "Remember what I enter in forms and the search bar". IE might be similar, dunno.

Get google chrome, and use incognito mode for anything you don't want to be traced back to.

I know about deleting browsing history, but I'd have to do it like every day, andI like having the adress bar with the list of sites.

As for Firefox, it's the same thing, I can keep it from suggesting, but I also lose the list on the adress bar

Anybody know a way of downloading IE7?

Go download FireFox. Use IE for porn and firefox for your main browser. OR you could download an add on to firefox that deletes browsing history everytime you exit. OR...you could go into IE>Tool>Internet Options>Advanced Tab>Clicke 'Reset'

Or check InPrivate browsing on IE8, too - it serves a similar purpose to Incognito on Chrome, and might erase your google search history.

If you really want to keep them out of your Internet usage business, stop letting them use the PC under your account. XP, Vista et all support multiple user sessions - give them a limited-access account and keep all your personal browsing out of their sight.
