I recently bought a Logitech Dual Action gaming controller for my PC but noticed upon first use that the sensitivity is way off. I am unable to simply walk forward with my character, instead he runs. This is very annoying since I would very much like to be able to move slowly in my games and it seems like no matter how much pressure I apply to the joystick, my character will just run. So, I have fiddled around with the settings of the controller and I cannot get it to work like I need it to. So now I'm trying to see if there are any other PC controllers out there that have a sensitivity level to them that will allow your characters to simply walk or be able to apply slight pressure to the joystick in able to do things slowly. I've thought about getting a wired Xbox 360 controller since I already have a 360. If anyone has any tips or advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

Yeah I've heard great things about using a Xbox 360 controller w/ a PC, but haven't ever done it myself...but many games that have come out recently have support for it specifically

ya it works great and i think they have a specific pc one but you can use the regular xbox 360 on and in games like lost planet and grid is made specifficaly for it like in grid it enables the rumble on it

edit if its wireless you can get this link or heres a tutorial if you have and wired already heres instructions

worked for me

I've been using a wired 360 controller for over 2 years on here - it works well for most games. Exceptions are FPS and Strategy games where I prefer the mouse/keyboard.

What I like to do is switch from keyboard/mouse controls for on-foot parts of gta, to the controller for vehicle sequences. Along those lines, it works well for driving games also. FPS games, I usually don't play with it, however Crysis and a lot of multi-platform games that are also on 360 seem to default to it when it's plugged in.

Overall a wired one will be cheaper and less complicated to set up - versus a wireless that you have to get an adapter for. I could see a wireless one accidentally powering on a 360 system if it sits close-by the pc, but I haven't tried one.

I swear by my wired 360 controller. I had to download one driver iirc the day I bought it and of the games I've tried it in it works perfectly. Prototype for example I just plugged it in and it automaticaly configured it to the standard Xbox 360 controlls, complete with rumble. Works great. Afaik any games for windows nativly supports the xbox 360 controller. Lost planet, grid.. etc, etc. It's cheap, easy to setup and you can use it on your 360 to boot.

the 360 is the best controller for pc if you don't want to mess with config settings, plug in and play in any new game that supports controller, the games even change the icons to match the controller. You could get the modified xinput.dll which makes direct input controller (any non 360 controller) read as a 360 controller. download the file and put it in the root of each game folder.

By all means, get an Xbox 360 gamepad for those XInput-based games. But, when it comes to DirectInput, I suggest you get an Xbox Controller S or some deriative thereof, a normal USB strain relief end cable (or splice your own), and set it up with the XBCD drivers. Those drivers will allow you far more flexibility with DirectInput than just about any other device on the market, but the downside is that they don't support XInput directly (which is why I don't use it with my wireless X360 pad + receiver). For that, you'll need an XInput emulator, and with XBCD, you'll lose rumble feedback in XInput games (though it works in DirectInput games.)

i'd definitly suggest a xbox 360 controller. i personally bought the mad catz one from gamestop it works great. i even got it working on left 4 dead splitscreen. plus it was only 25 bucks. if you dont mind ordering online you should get the gaming adapter for wireless controllers. i would have gotten that instead but i only like buying in stores and i couldnt find it

Ive been using a wired 360 controller for 3yrs or so now. Use it for racing games, but, just recently I bought a Black Wireless 360 controller due to the fact i got the receiver for free from a friend. Its a good controller as others said, just as they've talked about the downsides. But overall I say its worth it.

Awesome, thanks for all the responses. Looks like I'm going to be getting an Xbox 360 controller for my PC. Anyone know if I'll be able to return this Logitech Dual Action controller to Best Buy?
