Holy monkey bladders it's Monkey Island.

I've been downloading since I got home late from work. I stayed up last night 'till midnight, which was when Monkey was supposed to unlock, but at midnight we were informed that the game wouldn't unlock for another 12 hours. I went to bed mad.

I'm at 65% right now. It's not a big download though. The website says 2.5 gigabytes. But it's more like 600 megabytes.

Already been playing it for a few hours and I'm just loving the upgraded graphics and voice overs. Brings back so many great memories...

I'm hoping if this does well they will also give LeChuck's Revenge the same treatment.

Got it, its word for word the same exact game but with voiceovers and HD artwork, which rocks. Its also nice how you can instantly switch back and forth between the original and the new one at any time.

all time-classic for the peoples who played it during it's golden day, the other will maybe find this game meh. This has alway been the case for every "classic" games I played past it's prime-time... Goldeneyes, Half life 1...

The HD graphics are even nicer looking than they were depicted in the screenshots. I'm savoring each screen.

Gameplay-wise, I'd forgotten how tough these games can be - you have to pick up everything that isn't nailed down, and you have to try things that might not seem logical... I can't remember any of this stuff, although of course it's been 20 years.

I'm going to try to complete this without consulting a walkthrough. I succeeded 20 years ago, so I should still be able to do it now. Well, I'm off to seek my fortune.

This shows how much games have been dumbed down and less challenging than what they used to be.

And now that it's been revamped with top-notch voiceovers and graphics, it's perfect. Don't tell me the gameplay is bad compared to today's adventure games... blasphemy indeed.

I wanted to buy the shovel and the sword from the merchant, and the map from the dealer on the corner - but I didn't have any money.

I couldn't remember how you got your hands on some money, so I started wandering about - at which time I encountered the circus, and the Fettucini brothers, and they asked me if I wanted to be shot out of a canon. They said that they'd pay me, but they would only allow me to do it if I had a helmet.

So I whipped out that pot from the Scumm Bar. And now I'm just wandering about again. Amazing how quickly you get 'stuck' in these old-time games. What I remember though is the thrill you would get from finally figuring it all out. We'll see if that's still the case after all these years. Maybe they were just lousy puzzles?

lol, if you want old-time weird puzzles, look up Sam & Max Hit the Road. None of the puzzles in that game make any sense, and yet they seemed perfectly logical after you got them... but that's what made them fun. Never have I seen a more intricate puzzle solved with the help of a ball of twine.

I feel very sorry for you if you can't find any value in playing the classics.

sounds more like your personal problem than anything. i would be surprised if you could find an adventure game fan who finally gets to play it after missing it first time around and thinks its meh
