Okay guys. Hey I'm new here, my other account's email got disabled so I made a new GS account and linked it with my FB account. I do know a bit about PC's so don't take it I'm arrogant 'cos I'm new ;D 4870HD 512MB 2x2GB Corsair (The good stuff, 2-2-2-14/800MHz Dual Channel) iCute Server Case super 18 (18 HDD's :O, only got 2 :P) Intel MoBo (it's fairly decent, PCI-E x16 2.0 etc) 500GB HDD + 200GB HDD (680HDD total) Windows XP Home edition (32 Bit ofc ;D) Antec Extreme 650W PSU E7400 2.8GHz Intel Dual Core ^^^ Probably forgot something I could sell that for $800... and with an extra $600.. I could get a Q6600 (I often muilty task, its better for me personally than an extra 5-10FPS) GTX295/GTX470 (I HATE ATI, I would prefer my old 8800GTS 320MB to this :/ ) 760i XFX 4GB DDR2 800MHz Rest i'd see whats on sale. Or is my build sufficiant? I sorta hate XP...

Hmm well you could only really sell that for $600-$700 USD (which is about $850 to $990 NZD but I'm not really sure what people are willing to pay in your country though).

Does Corsair even make RAM with those timings? That set he has must be a rare commodity indeed :P

Now that you point it out, that sounds far more along the lines of high-end DDR1 except for the 14 at the end, which would be more along the lines of a 4 or 6 if it really were DDR1. How DID he get the timings that low and keep it stable? Anyway, that PC seems fine to me, especially if you overclock that CPU a bit. If you really need a quad-core, you could probably save up for a Q9550, which a motherboard with PCIe 2.0 would probably support.

Yeah those timings sound nuts. I can't even get 4-4-4-15 to work on my OCZ Plat rev.2 without it crashing in a game even though it's advertised to work at those timings.

If you're running four DIMMs like I am, it seems that CAS 4 just isn't going to happen no matter what, at least on Intel's Core 2 chipsets (P35 in my case).

Well, running only 2 now. My motherboard didn't like it when I paired 2GB OCZ platinum with 2GB of OCZ Gold. The first problem I had was it would give me no display when I start up the computer which I got around but then a few days ago my dvd drive stopped working and as soon as I took out the 2 sticks it worked flawlessly. I was thinking about buying a new 2x2GB kit but seeing as how I'm not really having trouble with anything I do, I think I'll hold off for as long as possible. I'm still using XP, so even when I'm playing Crysis Warhead I have extra ram left over.

I know those kickass, I've had one. But is it worth selling my build? I might buy an ASUS mobo and try for a 3.5GHz OC and sell the PC?
