They're all in my price range but I'm struggling to pick between these 3. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd be using this to listen to music and play games on my pc.

What music do you listen to? Will these need to be portable? Budget? Amp budget? D2000 won't need an amp, HD598 will need an ok amp and the Q701 will need one.

I listen from to music that goes from Slipknot to Huey Lewis and the news/music from tv shows/movies. I could swing about an extra £40 for an amp. Haven't really looked into that thought a decent soundcard would be enough. was gonna use the Asus Xonar DG 5.1

Grab a FiiO E10. I don't really know who those artists are, so I am going to assume you listen to all kinds of genres. Could you get a Hifiman HE-400? That would be the bomb.

Of course a headphone amp is always better. But I disagree the 598s need a amp, I own a pair and when plugged in the amp or not they still sound great. The AKG's for sure though need the amp.

I avoid buying used electronics. Particularly if they're expensive.

Then the AKG's don't really need an amp. Both of them need atleast a FiiO amp. Both improve from tubes though.

AKGs are the most neutral if that's what you're looking for.

The AKGs and 598s are open back, if i remember correctly the denons are closed back.

This graph may give you a better idea of how they sound. I included the K701 for reference, interestingly some people claim the Q701 sounds the same as the K701, but headroom disagree. Having not heard either I can't comment on that.
