New issue of the Croatian gaming magazine "Gameplay" is out (www.gameplay.hr). There is an interview with CROTEAM (www.croteam.com) - creators of Serious Sam series. Inside of it you can see a new screenshot of Serious Sam 3. They are working on a new engine that should run Serious Sam 3 and on a new project - tactical FPS. The new engine is called Serious Engine 3, and these screens I saw - it really looks amazing.

Serious Sam 3!!!! Yeah baby, can't wait for that :D seriouszone discussion

Actually, I thought Serious Sam 2 was a bit of a let down compared to the original and TSE. It's difficult to pinpoint why exactly, just had a different feel. Hopefully 3 rocks!

I would second that. I also hope that SS3 would bring in some refreshing changes.

I can't get the scan, sorry. I don't have a scaner lol. And it would look really bad if I take a picture with a camera. Sorry, but if some pics go out on the Internet I'm gonna put them here... sorry on my bad english...

to sharier: yes, ss3 is going to be different. it looks more serious (lol), it's not so colorful any more, and from what i saw you're now in some city, not in jungle....

I'd love to see a third game in this series just as long as they get rid of the cartoon like graphics they threw at us in the SS2. Don't get me wrong I had fun playing SS2 at times but it definately didn't compare to the first one or TSE.

Yes, me too, and it looks like they are going to get rid of the cartoo-like graphics, just as I said, the game should be more serious. I haven't read the interview yet 'cause I don't have enough time, but I'm going to read it soon. And I'll add some news if I spot them in the interview. (you know, I feel very nice when I see that you guys are expecting SS3 so much, because croatia is a small country, and thanks to the Croteam for showing croatia in another of many ways... :D)

That is what destroyed the overall experience for me. I too hope that they move back to the original more realistic style. Still good news though.

I read the interview yesterday evening. And the whole time I couldn't believe that Croteam is so small but so good in game development... They almost got a new project from id software, but at the end some USA developers got it. I didn't know that the first SS was so successful. So many people tried to buy it, for example, in USA, but the shops only got 2 copies of the game which was frustrating for players. SS:TFE also got "Gamespot's Best of 2001 - Game of the Year". Croteam has only like 20 members and they are divided in 3 groups. One of these groups worked on Serious Engine 3 for some time as i said, and the screenshots from what SE3 engine can do are amazing. They said that Serious Sam 3 is sure going to be the best game in the series. They also want to develop multiplatform games, but they need more money to hire some more people. So, SS 3 could be a multiplatform game, but if not, than the other project is possible to go multiplatform. The new project is said to be announced soon by the publisher, and it is known that it is going to be "military tactical-action shooter" in present. So, with this, Croteam is doing something more realistic than SS. It will also use SE3. This should be it. We just need to wait. Sorry on bad english...

I hope that there other game goes multiplat and SS3 stays exclusive to the PC.
