I've been wanting to work on a project for some time, so I decided I would set up a home network since my house has a bunch of computers (two desktops, a laptop, a netbook, another broken desktop I plan to fix, and a laptop that might get fixed). I'm going to use wireless (unless something like ethernet is a better idea). What I'm here to find is recommendation for a decent wireless card for my second desktop. I don't have a very high budget so the cheaper the better, but I don't want something too junky. I'll be putting it in a PCI slot. Any suggestions? Another question: My main desktop is connected to the router with an ethernet cable, since it is right next to the router and modem, and I don't want to buy a wireless card for it. Will it be able to be part of the network? Or should I get a wireless card for that as well? Bear in mind with me here, I'm not experienced with networking quite yet (learning it this week in my Computer Tech cIass) so this is mostly an experiment and I would like mostly to learn from this.
I like the WRT54GL because it can be flashed with custom firmwares like Tomato and DD-WRT. These firmwares improve the stability of the router and have settings that can help with range and signal strength issues.

Wired connections tend to be much faster and more stable than wireless. Not only wiill your desktop that's wired in be part of the network, but it will have a faster more stable connection to your network.
For the other desktop this should be fine:

The netbook won't need a wireless adapter, and I'm assuming the laptop won't either.
I have this router, will I be all set with it? Link. It's quite old so I'm a bit worried. Thanks, that card looks great. :D Yeah, the netbook and laptop are both all set on the wireless front. Looks like I'm all set now. Thanks. :D
