Hey guys well i bought a geforce 8800 gt...and unfortuantly i do not have pci express...and it would cost to much to get a new motherboard and change my processor...so i noticed that the ati radeon 2600 pro was on sale at bestbuy from 199.99 to just 99.99 and it is agp compatible...im just curious how good is that card compared to an 8800 gt..thanks!

no it most likely wont as the 2600PRO is not a very powerful card, the 2600PRO is defiently no 8800GT the performance difference is quiet vast actually but the 2600 is still a good card and should last you till you do full upgrade.

it would be worth your money to save up for a new PC entirely.

settling for an AGP when what you want is pci-e will only be decent for a few months, and the whole time you'll be thinking, "this sucks, i could be using something much better."

save the money. 2600 sucks.

For the last time, BOTTLENENECKING IS NOT THAT BIG A DEAL. I would explain to you why its not but I am too lazy. I am sure everyone else will back me up on this.

I sure as hell do. I mean a Pentium 4 will bottleneck a 8800/2900/3800 series card a bit but its not like its gonna kill you. Any dual core(cept PentD's they arent really duals anyway[nativly]).
