Its a good game, if you liked the first. You will like the second one. It has a few bugs/issue, but for the most part runs good. If you can get it for less then $5 it's worth it, i'd say.
Depends on what you were looking for. Bioshock 1 has a much better story, but in Bioshock 2 they did a good job on adding onto the gameplay. However, at the end of the day, I've played through Bioshock 1 three times whereas I've never gone back and replayed through Bioshock 2...

This... the second one is good, but it doesn't hold a candle to the fist imo
The first bioshock is boring as hell. I had a blast with the second one though. Without a doubt buy the second one its a much better game.

Neither BioShock is a must-play, because gameplay is flawed in both games, though it is seamed a little better in the second game. The real reason to play these games is everything around the gameplay - the environment, the writing, the characters, the soundtrack - the whole experience is way better than the sum of its parts.
As for BioShock 2 specifically - combat and level design feel more focused than they were in the first game, but the setting and artstyle have lost their wow factor after the first game. Sadly, the story itself isn't as complex and appealing as the first BioShock's, but it has more of a personal emotional impact. Overall I'd say both games are about equally good, even though the first game wowed me more because everything about it was so fresh and different.
If you liked the original BioShock, then yes, I would definitely get BioShock 2. It was definitely worth the $7.50 I paid for it on the last Steam holiday sale.
Should I buy Bioshock 2 and can you tell me why I must or not?????xweto100I picked up a copy at Best Buy, they were doing a sale of buy 2 $10 marked games and get a third $10 game free. I picked up Bioshock 2 and 2 other games (that I can't recall, since I purched them almost a year ago now). I haven't played the game yet, working on my backlog. It can't be any worse then the first 1 was - at least story-wise. If the price is low and it won't matter if you buy them and don't like it, I'd say go for it.
Try finding a demo for it, play it for yourself, and then decide. You could also watch gameplay videos online, like Youtube in particular. Can't decide then? Then risk the $5-10 and get a copy. Cut back slightly somewhere else and you'll be fine.
meh , i did not like the Bioshock series at all.
i never understand the whole big daddy/sister thing etc ...
only thing that"S cool are the water-effects ingame.
i wish they would make SystemShock with next-gen graphics.
If you loved Bioshock and want more Bioshock, then get it. The story isn't as quite as good as the first, but it is still a really well-told story, and the gameplay does have some improvements.
Its pretty much the same as the second one with a slightly weaker story and some dismissable new weapons and plasmids. For die hard fans of the first only.
