I've been hearing amzing reveiws from this game and many people call it a classic. I sadly never had the chance to play it (was in to counsel games back then) so I was wondering,

- Is this the classic everybody says?

- If so, will I enjoy it? (I have FEAR, CIV 4, Suprem comander and outher assorted goodies. never played an adventure 2D game.)

- Were can I buy it? (Really old game = not in stores:()

Please help me.

Yes - it didn't beat Half-Life, Thief and Starcraft for Gamespot's 1998 GOTY for nothing! ;)

If you're not a fan of the adventure genre, or if the setting doesn't really appeal to you, you may not like it.

The game is very much story-focused - there's no 'action', just dialogue and puzzle solving - but it is definitely one of the best games in its genre. (The first year is a bit boring, but it greatly picks up after that)

If you live in Europe or Australia, most stores should stock it, as it was re-released in those places a few weeks ago. If not, you might be able to get it very cheaply through Amazon/Ebay - you shouldn't have to pay much more than bargain-bin prices, due to the re-release.

Thanks for posting! I'm probly going to buy it, but i live in canada so i wont get the re-release. I would get it on Ebay, but i dont like the idea of used games (CD code bothers me!) is there anything i can do to get a new copy?

I'd recommend looking for an Australian or European store that ships internationally, although you'll probably spend more on shipping than you do on the game (it'll still be cheaper than buying a ~$50 version in other countries, though).

Grim Fandango doesn't use CD Keys, it's also a 3d adventure game not 2d.

Some parts of the game left me stuck, but that's the way all adventure games generally are.
It wasn't a bad game, it was definitely one of the better adventure games around but it's nothing to go out of your way for if your not looking for adventure games.

If you have any appreciation for memorable characters, mood and good dialogue, then you'll get a kick out of Grim Fandango.

You can get it at GoGamer.com.drnick7

They've got it listed at ~$30 US, which is ~$37AUS. It's being sold for ~$10Aus here, which is around $8 US.

^^ GamePlanet is a good store, but I have no idea about their shipping rates, or even if they ship overseas.

Oh, well then if they ship overseas and with a decent rate, then that'd be the place to go.

Haha. After reading this, I remembered that I still have it myself. It is a good game. Puzzle/Adventure. I do recommend you get it, and, it looks like the people above me have already found some great places to get it. :)

I have Vista Ultimate and it works perfectly, no problems at all. I have never finnished it, lost my CD and I just bought it again for 5 bucks.
