I can get it for round $14. Do you think it will continue being popular even when Guild Wars 2 comes out? The game is 3 years old though. :(

What exactly is the gameplay like? What do you have to do? Is it addictive?

yeah definately, just make sure you buy it brand new becuase you need to register an account. there are 3 expansions too if u want more content but the first is most definately the best in terms of play time and story...plus the leveling is more spread out cos in Nightfall/factions you level up almost entirely in a small area then hit the mainland at like lvl 18 or whatever with only 2 levels to go....

th gameplay is good but all the areas are instanced off so you are alone when you leave main cities unless you are with a group. it is addictive but once you hit level 20, which doesnt take long, it can kind of drag on unless you want to get titles and stuff for completing achievements. in terms of what you do, its sinmilar to most mmo's except there arent really any annoying fetch quests, most tend to have decent stories behind them which keeps it from getting repetetive, there is also a main story quest line too which is good fun

hope this helps :)

I would go with WoW... I really honestly would. 49.99 for the battle chest( WoW WoWBC, and 1 freemonth) it's seriously worth the money.

But, If GW2 isn't liek an xpansion pack(like BC) I would get it anyway, becuase people will still play both.

Is it hard and confusing and frsutrating to get into?

Most importantly, will a high ping (around 200) affect the gameplay a lot?

I would also attempt to get Eotn if you intend to get GW2 then Eotn means more bonuses later. As for you high ping shouldnt be a problem I played the first couple of months on Dial up it was updating on that when I was convinced to switch over to Broadband.

Just because the game is 3 years old doesn't mean its suddenly going to stop being fun. If you want to try it out track down one of the two week demo discs or download the client.

Don't worry about Guild Wars 2. Everquest is still going strong despite Everquest 2 being active. It will be the same for Guild Wars.

Guild Wars runs very well on a dial-up. Crowded towns can get a little frustrating when you are trying to move around but once you are out in the wilderness the hiccups settle down.

of coz it's gonna be slowly phased out, but at 14 dollars, it's gonna be the sweetest long goodbye you've ever had in your gaming history :)

Thats up to you really, save the world four times, yes.

Servers will be still up, yes; poor ingame support for trading tho, yes; but economy is dead imo.

The official wiki have lots of info, ping of 200 is acceptable for day to day play.

I got it today. No offense to those who like it but I still havent figured whats fun in this game. I jsut have to run from point A to B tlak and then go back. Sometimes in the middle I ahve to fight but thats about it. Maybe I havent begun the game properly and am just a beginner?

Yeah well, welcoem to MMOs. What's fun is building your chatracter and progressing the storyline, when that's done, you experiment with different builds etc to.. further build your character. THen you can enter PvP or join a guild and do more.. seirous stuff, that' what gets you hooked. IF you don't have time for it.. well, won't be much to do.

age of conan is better than wow and will over take it. Guild wars is better than wow and age of conan because I don't have to pay a fee.

I doubt it will keep being popular, my friend used to play it loads but now his clan has shut down waiting for guild wars 2, i'm guessing most of the hard core players at least will disappear
