nah - people left long time ago - only GMs are in there....
joking - even people who played it years can create now new character and i'm sure new gamers are joining almost every day - so go for it, it's one of the great MMORPGs out there
I enjoyed WoW until the expansion came around, because I enjoyed the PVP. However then I had to grind again and I am just not interested in that anymore.
I would reccomend WoW, and any other MMORPG if you are more interested in being able to brag about a game, than having fun, or doing things in real life. It is addicting, and if it isnt addicting, you arnt enjoying it, and shouldnt play it. They are made for addicts, and if you arnt addicted, do your self a favor, and just enjoy things that are fun instead of things that require play time for advancement.
god forbid. look for my rant in the forums. It explains exactly why not to get it. Go with Diablo 2. Free online and way better.monkeytoes61
It explains exactly why, in your opinion, not to get it. I jumped back on, had like 2 levels of rested xp and I just play on weekends now. I have made pretty good progress without burning myself out.

huh? stop comparing Diablo 2 to WoW - the one is action RPG and the second is MMORPG - it's like saying HL2 is better than Oblivion

Yeah, You Should Try the Trail as Larry said. If You liked playing Previous Warcraft games then you will like it :D
There are too many new MMO's coming out in the next few months that would appreciate your patronage more than Blizzard. The game is 3 years old and it's best years are behind it. In comparison to these new MMO's, WoW's age is really going to start showing. Your far better off waiting a month or two and devoting your time somewhere other than Azeroth.

I disagree. I had a lot of fun with WoW but was able to put it down easily when I was done with it.

I completely disagree with everything you just said. World of Warcraft can't age. It's not like they're still in the Beta age. The game can go on for years, with new additions coming out all of the time, due to expansions and patches. World of Warcraft has gone a long way from Version 1.0, and if you played the new version and then the old version, you would see how much of a difference countless patches can make.
And ThereIsNoEscape, I don't want to correct you because you were making a good point, but there are over 9 Million accounts, not just 7 Million :P

I'd bet money they still count me as one of those 9 million. It's a little misleading because I was a subscriber but am not anymore.

Well, it could be misleading, or it might not. There's no evidence as to how they count their subscribers.
Well i've had been playing WoW for 1.5 years, and i tell you this, if you want your grades to drop at school, lose your job or simply forgot real life, i suggest you buy it.DoomZaW
No offense, but only retards fall to addiction. The game can get addicting at first, but once you realize that it all amounts to absolutely nothing, the appeal of the game begins to fade. I still play it sometimes because it generally is a good game, but if you devote your life to playing it (or it affects your life like DoomZaW here), you're seriously retarded.

That's true. I'm just speculating. To me it just seems like the numbers are growing too quickly. 2 mil, 4 mil, 6 mil, 8 mil then 9 mil. I just find it hard to believe that the number of new people vastly outnumber the number of people who stop playing. It's the "2 steps forward, 1 step back" syndrome. To keep the number growing that fast blizz would need to refill old players spots as well as get new people playing.I'm guessing that they add on new accounts but don't subtract people who haven't played in a while.

YES !!! I agree i play D2: LoD expansion, over 50,000 still play it new people and experienced, So if you start playing now, you won't be the only new guy, you'll be among thousands. Its very balanced, theres a ladder and actually just restarted. So Yeah D2 is the way to go, and just because its 2D doesnt mean its bad, actually allows alot more action.
