Do you guys disable LPM (Link Power Management)? It seems that by doing so it will speed up the hdd (by not having it go into a low-power mode). Any advice on this topic? And, I'm using a mechanical hdd not a sdd. I know it is best to disable with a ssd, but what about a normal mechanical?

I've never disabled it. Personally I don't think it's going to make too much of a difference really.

Why would you ask the question again when no-one bothered answering in the PC hardware board?

Theres no point in disabling it.

I always have it disabled. Better to reduce the risk of any lag or interference with those frames per second.

I used to have an old epox motherboard back in the day and i could tweak it so good in the bios and in windows id squeez anextra 10-15 fps in counter strike source. Mobo optimization isnt needed as much these days

Disabled if you want max performance. Only have it enabled if you're concerned about saving power. I keep mine disabled.

@GTR12: I ask because I respect the opinions of people on this site. I've been around here for quite some time young blood. People have helped me build PCs. Throwing it in another forum accesses, possibly, other people who may not see it. So, if you don't like it....doesn't bother me. So there's my answer. Step back brother.

Edit: I take it back. You're not "young blood", but I will add you should know better than to say something like that. I'd expect that from a nub.
