Should I get a 2900xt or a 8800gts 320 and a xfi sound card?

Well, I have enough money to buy a 2900xt and use onboard sound, or a 8800gts and get a xfi card. What should I do?

which version of the x-fi? And what speakers do you have? It's not worth getting a better sound card if you don't have nice speakers.

Those speakers aren't great by any means, but they arent terrible, and will definitely give you a noticeable boost in sound quality if you get a sound card. Now, I would reccomend getting the better graphics card and just buying a cheaper Audigy SEwhen you can save up another $30 because I don't think that you will notice much of a difference for being less than half the price of the x-fi. Yes, you will not get to choose x-fi settings in games, but I think for your budget an x-fi isn't a great option. That card will still give you hardware acceleration, up to EAX 3.0, an equalizer, and better sound quality.Baselerd

Definately go with the 2900xt as that's whats you'll make the best use out of. Then later on you can add a cheaper sound card as Baselerd said. Besides, you don't know the difference between onboard and external so you won't miss it for now :).
