Ok so i Just built my rig and here are the specs. Amd 1090t, 8gb ripjaws ddr3. 1000w psu. Asus mobo with 4 pcie slots. H50 cooling system. I got the xfx hd6950 do i really need a card for physics!? Cuz when i run 3dmark on the physics part it gets really slow. So let me know what u guys think. Also if i do really one which one should i get!?angelyoel
you cant normally mix gpu's and get physics its normally from the gu itself physix from nivida for example
and to get that to run on an amd gpu isnt technically proper

But why? Cuz itll be only for physics. I think theres an option u should be able to use that extra card for physics...[QUOTE="angelyoel"]Ok so i Just built my rig and here are the specs. physx can be ran on hybrid solutions, nvidia tried to cripple the capability, but there are still modded drivers around that allow AMD+Nvidia(physx the same way as Nvidia+nvidia(physx)However TC i would like to point out that in almost all games the physics engine is ran on the CPU, Nvidia's Physx is just about the only mainstream physics engine that can be ran on GPUs, do you play enough games using physx to warrant buying a separate card just for that.

Not really but i saw a the geforce 460 for $160 so i thought about it[QUOTE="middle-earth88"]Lol crysis 2 is coming out and i bet that game is gonna have crazy physics... Crytek doesn't use Nvidia Physx, they use their own proprietary engine, it is a CPU based engine, I do believe their vegetation system offloads the procedural animation physics to the GPU but it doesn't discriminate between card brands and is not very processing intensive to run at all, nor does it support using separate cards for it.Physics is usless. DO NOT BUY.

half life 2 has mad physics so does batman AA you runing those okay? how about bfbc2 i doubt it will be that bad i assure you.

Well Batman Arcum asylum actually uses Nvidia PhysX. BFBC2 and Half life 2 run there own Physics engines. (you sir failed but its ok we all make mistakes)[QUOTE="ionusX"][QUOTE="angelyoel"] Lol crysis 2 is coming out and i bet that game is gonna have crazy physics...hofuldig

(you sir failed but its ok we all make mistakes) Bad company 2 uses havok and half life 2 uses a heavily modified havok engine. We all make mistakes :P[QUOTE="middle-earth88"]Lol crysis 2 is coming out and i bet that game is gonna have crazy physics...Physics is usless. DO NOT BUY.
