I think you should play FEAR because it's a good game, and maybe it would help you overcome your fear.SystemShock2
Ironic
i wasnt good with scary games, or scary movies, until i played fear. after that, i can play all kinds of creepy games and watch movies, and theyre all bland compared to the stuff that goes down in FEAR.
the main scaryness is just suspense. you never know whats gonna happen when you turn the corner, and that keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time.
yes,u should..a word of advice,go to youtube, search Exorcist, the part where the girl do the 180 degree head turning thingie..
if u can watch it,i think u can survive FEAR..
fear (the emotion, not the game) is utterly subjective, only you can decide if f.e.ar is too scary for you - or anything else for that matter, as different people will find different things funny, different people will find different things scary
i think the game is totally tame on the horror side, using weak and derivative boo! moments to just make you jump... shock is a long way from fear
i'd say buy it, play it and love it - it's an awesome game, but no one else can tell you if the game is too frightening for you, it's a decision you have to make yourself
F.E.A.R. is one scary game. Without giving too much away...
Like they said^, it is subjective though. So, you saying that you're afraid of zombies... uh... well... there aren't zombies per-se in FEAR, but there is a lot of psychological-fear aspects to the game. So if you're afraid of paranormal experiences, then chances are this game will be terrifying to you... or if you are absolutely stoked about paranormal experiences - good or bad - then get it.
fact of the matter is though: you played the demo, liked it, so that should be okay. but the demo is only a fraction of what FEAR is all about and how scary it can get.
FEAR is one scary game, but it is also one helluva game too.
Well, I hope your parents know you are playing F.E.A.R. ehehehe.....
Anyway, since you aren't sure if this is the scariest, I should tell you that you might encounter a few jump scenes. I can play F.E.A.R in the dark without any fear, but thats me obviously.
That would be the best way to judge it really, its more paranormal things, which scares some, while not others. The game has a fair amount of swearing and blood in it too, so just a little thing to consider :) ----So if you're afraid of paranormal experiences, then chances are this game will be terrifying to you... or if you are absolutely stoked about paranormal experiences - good or bad - then get it
Reesicup
Aff i remember good-oll-times when Alien vs Predator 2was scariest game :pLidveAt 1-3 am home alone and the motion sensory going crazy can be :P
HL2 is scary for you.... then Fear would do the same thing. Bioshock would make you wet your pants though.Luminouslight
Whats so scary about BioShock? I played it and Doom3 was by far scarier the first time. Bioshock just kept me saying "Cool""Awesome"
should i get f.e.a.r? im thirteen years old and i beat the demo and i liked it but will it be too scary? i really want it but im not to good with scary games, thats whats keeping me from half life 2 :(h2owizard
Just think of it this way...YOU'RE A MAN (or are you? I have no idea), and F.E.A.R. is a video game. After you've played F.E.A.R. a lot of things won't seem so ... scary anymore. I wasn't scared at all my first time through F.E.A.R., but I was startled quite a bit by the expansion pack for some reason. It was good fun :)
By the way, I have no idea what people are talking about when they say Bioshock is scary. I found that it offered no real scare factor what so ever...
FEAR is a pretty creepy and scary game, but it is one of the best FPS games. It is definitely more scary than halflife. If scary games affect u, then wait until your a little older.
BTW Im probably old enough to be your father and i even found FEAR pretty scary, but i can handle these types of games.
Games have ratings for a reason. If your thirteen, and find ravenholm scary, you shouldn't be playing FEAR, because games shouldn't be bothering you. I don't think the FEAR gore can be turned off? Maybe I'm wrong. Anyways, I wouldn't encourage playing it, if its going to bother you.
On the other hand, embracing your fear, especially something thats safe like a video game, is generally a good idea. If its going to keep you up at night or give you nightmares though, its not worth it. The games well always be there. Games have the ESRB rating, so you know the content contained in the game. If its M, for 17 and up, you know it may have some more serious content, simple as that.
i only have a thing with zombies, every thing else is okay for me basically, when i played the demo i loved it and i played through it about 8 times. and a little scare is okay for me, when i see something creepy i dont get bothered by it for a long time and i dont get bad dreams. im not really that immature to be totally scared by a game, and i play some scary games already.
btw has anybody seen salad fingers? that show is pretty disturbing lol.
well i just got the game and im lovin it.h2owizard
Why games will continue to have ratings labels - zero self-policing.
do not get fear for another 2 years
im 17 and for a while i couldnt even play cause it scared the crap outa me
HL2 is scary for you.... then Fear would do the same thing. Bioshock would make you wet your pants though.Luminouslight
Bioshock is not the least bit scary...
Fear is tons of fun, just if you're easily scared it takes away all the fun :(
lol and by the way if you're scared easily, don't even go close to penumbra: Overture
im kinda getting exited about it, im not good with zombie games though, and the only scary thing in half life 2 is ravenholm with the zombies, and if it dosnt get scarier than that then i will buy it. cause i really like the gameplay
h2owizard
How can you think Ravenholm is scary? You have loads of ammunition, and you can use your gravity gun to project saw blades at your foes and cut those zombie bastards in half :D
