Im wondering if i should get HL: 2 episode 1 or just wait till episode 2 comes out heard HL:2 episode one is shorth and wondering even botter getting it so help me out here.
yeah well if you intend to play ep2 than you certainly should play ep1, or you will be pretty much WTFed when you start playing ep2, since there is important stuff going on in ep1. And its only 20$ so no big deal. Just get it ;)

no its not. at least that way they would change the engine and be in a whole new generation. the whole point of episodes was to pay less and have to wait less. we end up waiting more and paying just as much.

Yeah, I'd have bought Ep 2 if it came out around now, but when it finally does come out, there will just be better games out there.
Have you played HL and HL2? if so then get EP1 it just continues the story... if not you may want to wait and just grab the Valve everything pack... In response to the guy who said waitiing 6 years for engine updates is better, the source engine has already recived two engine update, HDR and dual core support, and valve has already stated they are working on a DX10 rendering path. Valve has conceived the Source engine as a never ending platform, they will just keep adding new technology and feature as they go along from product to product.

Actually, the reason for the delay is to fix compatability issues with dx10 cards.
