How much money do you think I might spend after 3 years of pc gaming?Because I did a bit of math and so far iv spent $1385 on things like games, xbox live, controllers, headsets and 2 Xboxs(first one broke) all in the past 3 years.SuperrkillaJust on games alone you will end up spending considerably less money on the PC and get a ton more games.
go with pc man.
if you build your own pc which isn't hard. Even the people on the hardware forums will help pick parts for you and there is even a sticky at the top of the forum that is a great guide to put it all together. you can also find tons of videos on youtube about it also. This way you can more bang for your buck
$600 would get you nice rig, but if you can increase that maybe to 800-9 you most likely max out any future games for coming years if you care...
yes pc games are cheaper. downside is you can't resell them unlike console games but, in my opinion the ammount you can save cancels that out.
just off bat new release tittles is pretty much always $10 cheaper.
Then holiday sales blow the living crap out of any sales on console games you ever find.
So yes depending how much gaming you do, you can come out on top.

If a pc breaks which is rare you can yank that one part out and replace it vs a console you must replace the entire thing. mouse/bd breaks far less often then a controller and don't need replace that unless you want to upgrade. You can buy a wired xbox controller which is supported by nearly EVERY single game if you want but not needed. Lets say you only buy games during sales, you can get a handful 75% off Try that with a console game... Then if you want game on release date. look at websites like greenmangaming.com. They offer 10%-25%-35% off select pre orders
You'll probably end up spending $150-200 per year for 3 yrs. Not because they cost so much, but them sales are just too tempting. You won't only get 3-5 games per year; at the end of that 3 years, you'll have a backlog of like 200+ games.
Story of my life.

That could easily get you 20-30 games if you buy them about a year after they come out.
You see right now you only buy 3-5 games per year because they're expensive... on PC they're so cheap you can play 3x the amount of games cheaper than that console price.
I got Spec Ops The Line for 2.49 at the same time it was $40-45 on consoles.
And that's just one deal in a sea of games I've purchased.

Personally I think I would save up some more $$ and buy a pretty decent pc. When I say "buy a pc" I mean buy the parts and build it yourself.
I have a 360 and PS3 and they do not compare to pc on any level. Nothing worng with consoles but in the end the best experiance is on PC...hands down.

Thanks. I checked last night but was really tired. I guess somehow I thought the download one was $20 again.Hands down bro, i couldn't agree more and i also own both of those consoles. They're fine when it comes to a few exclusives but other than that they just collect dust and sit there looking sorry for themselves.Personally I think I would save up some more $$ and buy a pretty decent pc. I don't buy into the whole console vs. PC war, because as a gamer I like both! I will say that you will save a lot of money on PC games and you'll have a much better experience with them. Obviously computers are easier to maneuver than consoles, so messaging your friends and voice-chatting is a lot easier, not to mention the Steam sales where you can get 25 great games for under 150$ (less than the price of three brand new console games).
PC gaming as an entry point is always more expensive, and it's always going to be the one prone to the most problems. However yeah, games are very cheap buying online, digitally or at sales time, you can do what you want - hook it up to your TV or whatever, and you'll have a good PC for all those PC things to boot. However. Are there any games that interest you at all on the PC, enough to invest that money and time?skrat_01Yeah PC gaming definitely has more issues. I moved to a new apartment on the second and couldn't play my steam games because I forgot to upate steam before I moved. Steam's offline mode is such a pain in the ass, there's so many rules to be able to use it. Have to be on most recent version of steam, have to save your credentials, have to go in offline mode while online.
But then there's also the good part of stuff like that like being able to play KOTOR 2 as it's meant to be played or mods for games such as the elder scrolls.
