Or should I instead wait for the 9800GTX, which I am hoping will have some serious extra power compared to the 8800GTX, instead of some 5 or 10 frame increase.

Oh, it will be a very nice boost, expecially at high resolutions, but to be honest I'm not very satisfyied with what I've read so far. But you cant expect every new product to kill the old like the 8800 GTX did.

In any case you should stick with your 8800(if you do in fact have one) and wait to see how AIT's next heavy hitter will fair.

I would personally save my money, that is if you already have an 8800.

then keep it, if you want to upgrade get another 8800GTS for SLI, it is slightly better performance ans will save you money.

Overclock the 8800 GTS G92...TA DA; a 9800 GTX. :D :D :D

If you've got the money, the PSU and a speedy CPU, go for the 9800 GX2.

So I heard the 9800GTX is just an overclocked 8800 GTS. I think u should keep your card and wait for the next GEN.

Dont get the 9800gx2 ...everyone knows that a single card solution is better that 2 . wait for the 9800 gtx rather that putting 2 8800gts's in you rig. i have 8800 gtx and iam waiting for the 9800gtx...i am so sorry for the poor folks who already shelled out and brought the 9800gx2 they will be very pissed in a couple of weeks.

Excuse me, why would they be pissed? have you see some performance test of the gx2? I see you have not.

Anyway I myself am also waiting for the 9800GTX, since that or 9600GT SLi will be my choice.
