Hmm, the game is usually referred to as one of, if not THE best game ever made (atleast if you go by the top 100 lists of various sites)

it isa very good game, if you can stand the somewhat dated graphics there are alot to come for in that game.

It is split between 2 gametypes, the first one is "The world screen" this is the place where you manage your finances (yup you have to earn cash to keep your troops going, build new bases, research new weapons/armor and aliens, buy new troops, and manage all the administration things, while hunting down UFO's on the map.

the 2nd is when a ship crashlands, or Aliens invade citys (or you invade thier bases) its the other half, it is turnbased tactical, quite simple, but really rewarding. having to get teamm8s to cover eachothers blind angels, and hunt down lil aliens ^^

It is a great game, despite its age, and yes it is very much worth buying ^^

I bought the X-COM collection of of Steam awhile ago for $3.00. I really don't understand the games, and they seem very complicated. I was planning to sit down and try to figure it out, but I have yet to do so.
