Well, as a bonus for buying a new laptop in December, i was offered a free copy of Windows Vista Home Premium, which came in the mail today. I've heard a lot of problems about Vista, so I was wondering if I should install it on my laptop or not.

My specs are:

Processor: Intel CPU T2050 @ 1.6 Ghz (2 CPUs)

Memory: 1 GB of RAM

OS: Windows XP Home SP2

Graphics: Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset Family

Sound: Conexant HD Audio Output

well it will run on your pc . but i guessing u have a laptop by ur specs . but anyways 1gb is the min for it i would add about 1 gb more memory . so you can run more on your pc at once . 2 core cpu is great for vista cus its a tuff to load . your clock speed seems a bit slow so you should try and over clock it . but as is your pc could run vista well . but could be better !

You know what? I honestly...wouldn't.

XP runs perfectly on 1 gig of RAM. Vista might be "ok" on one gig of RAM, but it could definitely use two.

Unless there is a burning desire for some Vista feature, I'd leave it as is for now.

I agree with Yellowjell0. You would have to buy another 1 GB of RAM to keep Vista happy whereas 1GB on XP is fine.
