Should I just upgrade?

I'm getting a new, or used comp from a friend of a friend. Anyhow I was wondering if someone could fill me in about the graphics card. It's a x800GTO, not sure what that means I haven't been up to date with comp hardware for quite some time. I'm not sure if I should keep it and upgrade it in the future, or just do it right off the bad. Also was wondering if AMD had released thwir quad processors.

Also if anyone has suggestions for some strong cards pref ATIs. Also was wondering if AMD had released their quad processors.
