Should I pre-order Black Ops 2?

Heres my thing I'm a PC gamer at heart I love my rig and the games and the felxibility with my own system, however there is so much hype over the CoD series and from research I came to really like the ranking system and multiplayer. So I was considering of Pre-Ordering from my Best Buy (just because im part employed there) and playing exclusively on my PC.

I heard rumours that Treyarch is really doing a lot with the PC platform as far as functionality and support and that made my bells ring. I really want to have a great CoD experiance on my home PC. I also recently purchased my Razer Onza and a XB360 Wireless Receiver for my PC and would really like to try this out for a long-term played game.

What are your thoughts? (:

The last time I pre-ordered was FarCry 2. I never pre-order now.

Buy something else. Anything. I beg of you!! It looks like the most banal, boring and unimaginative COD to date. We have to find a way to get people to stop buying these games, at least at full price. In two years time I don't want to be playing the same COD game, next gen. It ends tonight!! biggest_loser

I have it pre-orderded. Got a good price for it too. You get a few bonuses with pre-order.

I don't care if people say it's the same thing every year. These people must not watch TV Shows. It might be the same engine and the same gameplay, but every year it looks better, and they add stuff to the gameplay to change it around. Remember, you are also getting 3 games in one. SP Campaign which is a fun 6-7 hour story, MP and Zombies which give you endless hours of fun.

PC is full of cheaters on CoD, they don't bother to even try and stop it, the series is barely alive on PC. if you want CoD its Xbox, simple as really.MBirdy88

Agreed. You do get a lot out of it for the price. MP, SP and zombie co-op.

I'll admit I like a good COD game.

But After COD4 it has all started to go downhill.

IF it isn't the gameplay-lag (modern Warfare 2-3)

Then its the crappy optimization/performance (WAW, Black Ops I)

I would really love for Black Ops II to be a great COD. And not have the crappy performance of the first one. But I feel the COD franchise itself, is not worth pre-ordering. Because Modern Warfare 2, and 3, were basically (limited) expansion packs that didn't deserve the $60 price tag, as well as $15 for map packs.

(I do think BO II will bring some new stuff to the table, but lets hope they fixes its previous mistakes, and problems in the series too)

I would really like a good COD game (cause its been a while), but I refuse to get my hopes up much. If it comes I would rather be surprised at a good COD game like I was with COD4. This is just my personal opinion though.

Also if there are no user-made maps, and mods for it, then I don't know if I will do it this time. That is one of the main thing missing from COD4, that I haven't seen much of lately.

Regarding cheaters, BLOPS2 uses VAC anticheat which has a great track record so I would not worry about that. If you don't care about not getting the exclusive map I suppose it would be smart to wait on reviews, but if you love their unique arcade like mp style I would just get it right now! :D

You do realise the vast majority of people who play CoD don't even know that there were other consoles before the 360 and the ps3, right? Now about better games or CoD being in the top 3 military shooters, that's a matter of opinion.

False. Kids who own 360's and PS3's most likley played PS2's or Gamecube. Just because it's mainly kids who enjoy it means squat. They are still people enjoying a game like you or I.

I'm not big on CoD series, but I am totally against pre-purchasing any game that I'm not confident in (here lately very few). It's always better to be cautious when not sure of a certain title. I'm sure many here on these forums can give you horror stories on bad pre-purchases. Me included! Patience is hard, but worth it in the long haul. Just my two cents.slabber44

You get the Nuketown map if you preorder right? That's the only reason I would do so. Although that map alone isn't enough to convince me, really...
