Short answer: Dude, you dont wanna get in to this kinnda lame monthly fees like many of those loosers that have no lifes. doing nothing but leveling up for what a monthly fee?!..... Ive played WoW for two months and I think it worthless junk piece of crap. and I will never go back for a day, ever.
Long answer: NO.
Level 70 Undead Warlock here. Keyed for all five heroics and kara. Have epic flying mount and most of my gear are kara/pvp epics.
Short answers: No. Stay away if you value your friends and family. I am being dead serious.
Long answer: The game is intrinsically addictive. All the quests and factions are designed to be one large time sink that keeps you playing just to get the next "reward" (all of which become obsolete when the new expansions come out). It's boring, extremely repetitive, frustrating, and generic. Plus, you'll play it so much you won't even have time for other games. Stick with some online FPS and enjoy a diverse gaming regiment. World of Warcraft is a big fat piece of nerdy garbage.
EDIT: And by the way, I've been out of the game for three months.
Definitely give it a shot. My first few months with WoW made for some of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.
Just make sure that you're playing for fun, and not for the sake of raising arbitrary numbers. Just go out there, make friends, explore, pvp, rp, whatever you like to do, and have a good time.
Chances are that you'll end up quitting sooner or later after you hit max level, and you should, as you've experienced all the good that WoW has to offer. Endgame is just a second job.
WoW is probably my most played game; the only other one that I might have played more is Halo2. It can be fun depending on who you are and whether you'll be able to not have, or resist, temptations such as joining a hardcore guild and doing instances (dungeons) over and over, just to get a new armor piece every 50th try.
I quit a while ago, but I don't think the fees and time required are worth it. Although messing with noobs in the human starting place with my Tauren hunter was quite fun for the first few times.
Then there was that one time in STV when I killed 2 Alliance with my pet, using eyes of the beast, after a duel had made their health go down.
Not worth it though, lol
I can understand your frustration at realizing you were addicted to the game, but if he really just keeps playing for fun, he can have fun for a month or two and quit. I honestly can say there were periods in the game that I was having real fun.Level 70 Undead Warlock here. Keyed for all five heroics and kara. Then again, the game costs money, and theres a monthly fee, and there's a great risk of getting addicted (I was somewhat addicted for a while).
I don't really know what to say. But No is my answer....
Im only 15 and dont have a job I think of it this way: I can play WoW for $AU50 for 3 months which is like the same price as going to 3 movies. 3 months of WoW>3 movies
Definitely give it a shot

I personally see going out to the movies with my friends way more fun than playing ANY video or PC game.
