I played until about the end of february this year and then just kinda stopped because i was running low on money. i never cancled my account and i have a buncha money saved up in my bank account. Should i spend my money on starting WoW back up or just save it up for some other stuff??

That's what I did, except I got a job and saved for a killer computer. Then I started playing WoW again. Do what you want, in reality do you need me to make this decesion for you, its quite simple. Yes: Drain my bank account at a slow rate or No: Play some other game like GW. But anyways good luck!

Yes, you should pick it back up again. And dont worry, all your progress since you quit will still be saved!

Just remember, play WoW in moderation...its a game, not an obligation.

I just recently got to 70,  (dwarf rogue ftw)  and i have got to say that it is a much different game at the lvl cap.  too be honest it kind of sucks.  the guy above said to play in moderation, but good luck competing with all the nerds and no lifers who have the best gear in the game.  just today i say a warlock with tier 5-6 on one of those frikkin armored netherdrakes.  310% faster...effin ridic if you ask me.
too be honest, the combat in the wow is choppy anyways.  with all these fears and dots and bleeds,  its really all about countering and countering, and whoever counters the most before someones health runs out is the winner....
for me, im waiting until warhammer online comes out, that game looks much more fun and fresh considering that wow is almost 3 years old now.

See, that is what ruins the game! Its not a competition. Why do you think Blizzard provided so many races, each with their own starting lands in addition to multiple other lands to quest in? So you could spend a few months getting your main to the level cap, then start a new character and experience an entirely different play mechanic and scenery.

A lot of people complain about WoW, but I think they just misunderstood it or didnt get the point. But hey, wtf am I talking about you play the game however you want.

Its taken me over two years to get my main to level 64, for example, and he is still fun. Most people would laugh at me but Im not the one spending five hours a night running Karazhan or grinding pvp stuff.

You want my opinion, they need to design an MMO that limits your progress on a real time basis. Like even if you play 7 hours a day, you wont get level 20 until next week when your time is up. I know, stupid idea but imo the MMO genre is still in its infancy and it has a lot of kinks to be worked out (and ya, I know its been around for years but its not until the past 5 or so that its become so popular).

Don't bother. I made the huge mistake of going back for the expansion hoping to be casual and it just isn't possible. You have to raid if you want to have fun and get anywhere and that requires that you waste a lot of your useful time.

Thats not entirely true, although most races have their own unique starting areas, you will end up in the same 20+ leveled areas anyway.

I'm sure this is great, but it's the complete losers that play it that really ruin it.

For the record, I'm not calling everyone who plays the game a loser. But for christ sakes, you know who you are...

No don't, you will be stuck making aggro jokes! I have to deal with that crap all day from some of my friends. Also the friends who played WoW hate it now, so trust me after the interest wears off, you will hate the game. Also that game is the crack of the gaming world. There are plenty of games that are out there better than WoW. Don't waste your money.

If you have a good ammount of money you should learn Systema and join the UFC. The UFC is lacking in diversity and Systema can exploit pretty much all your competition b/c they mainly know boxing and jujitsu. With that you can make a good ammount of money and make your own MMO. That would be your best bet IMO.

From an experienced 70 rogue: don't start again. I am quitting at the end of this month. Especially if you are a rogue. Pretty much no guild needs you. WoW = Waiting on Warhammer.

Well you get what you pay for, and GW isnt that amazing. All boring when you hit 20, same o same o.

And cause its free monthly sub, you get far more idiotic kids in the game, one of the reasons I left GW to WoW.

You'd think once you hit lvl 60 or lvl 70 the game's pace would slow down. But no, it gets worse with time. End game grind and runs for epic armors get's old...fast. You can only run the same instances so many times before you wonder why you're playing. Also, if you wanna be good and set, you have to be in a high end raid guild, which comes with strict rules and regulations, almost not worth it. Good luck finding nice friendly players who aren't hard core and WoW-crack addicted.

Nothing, I like the concept of systema, but some of it is simply not realistic. To say that someone who takes systema will be able to beat someone in the ufc under ufc rules is stupid. Maybe they'll be more efficient at a street/killing type situation, but even then its unknown until the fight happens and i'd still vote for the muay thai/bjj person

i dont suggest to play wow ... if you do have the money for it, it's fine, .... but you'll probably have discovered most of what has to be done within the first 6 months

just start by playing the 10 or 14 day trial ... if you continue, you can even keep the trial account and upgrade it

@LakesAreCool - I know what your saying, but the Kadochnikov system is very effective. Ryabko I wouldn't trust just because I still cant figure out psycokinetic hits and the Kadochnikov system is really a mix of BJJ and NJJ and science. Just saying it would mix things up a bit. I'd like to see it.

Yes I know its a free monthly. Thats why I said "You get what you pay for"..

All MMORPGs get old fast, but at least Blizz throw out new instances etc now and again.

GW was like FoW run FoW run FoW run, watch the 55 monk, FoW run....

Listen to the kids say "OMG u noob you dont have FoW armor"

FoW run, FoW run, spend a fortune on keys, sprint sprint sprint open chest, crap loot, etc etc

I suggest thinking about It a bit longer.I am in your situation and I have decided to buy the new Ex. and start playing then.It will have new things to play and it wont be boring to play if you have a level 70. If you have a few pounds spare I reccomend playing again. I did have alot of fun playing when I did.

I started a while back, few months, and now I can't stop. It's semi-embarrassing I admit lol. The game is like crack! If you appreciate it that is. If you get into it, it's way addicting. Besides, i jsut get the monthly cards. The pay 30 bucks and it covers 2 months and once it wears off and I'm still hooked, I'l buy another card. If I ceom to find it's boring I'll take my credit card off for a bit and maybe comeback later, that way I can play when I want and not have to worry about spending money when not playing. I suggest doing that 'cause that's what I do. Jsut get teh monthly cards... way easier and less stressful.

I remember playing at my friends house before TBC and molten core was sooooo fun. Now that I got the game NOBODY does molten core and EVERYBODY is at black temple farming Illidan. I think blizzard throwing in all the godly weapons(except corrupted ashbringer) into one raid and ungodly armor into pvp ruined the game for the more casual players.

The only way you can really compete as a casual player is to grind the Battlegrounds for PVP gear, which gets tediously boring. Otherwise forget casual play and play guild wars or something.

Meh, I was one of those "nerds with on life" even thought I orginally only raided 2 nights a week. There was a point in my life where I raided 5 days a week across 2 characters. Do I regret it? Not really, it was alot of fun and I loved the people I played with. I had a prot warrior in full T5/6 and a Warlock in full T5/6. I just recently had to quit because of RL.

WoW is all about who you know and how good you are. If you are not stubborn and read up on theorycrafting to change your specs, you can do well. With just 2 days a week raiding you can see alot of good endgame if you have a good group of people.

It's the same price as any other MMO and it's so much better than every other MMO in terms of quality and new content that it's in a league of it's own.

So everyone who ever plays this entire genre is getting ripped off?

Compete in what way? Just curious since you specifically mention pvp gear. Personally I have no interest in arena. But if that's where your interest lies, you might have to spend some time getting your season 1, and now season 2 gear.

If you're into PvE, heroic badge gear is great and in some cases better than what you could get from raiding up until the end of the T5 content. Collecting badges is easy enough if you run heroics like Mechanar and Botanica. Plus, Karazhan is a nice way to collect badges if you have a good group that can get a full clear.

OP, if you enjoy WoW, you might as well play. Personally, I'm taking a break from raiding, but I'm still having fun leveling up an alt and doing heroics with friends when they need dps. You really don't have to be that involved to play the game. A lot of the raiders in my previous guild would only log on right before raid time, and then you wouldn't see them again until the next raid night unless they needed to do dailies for consumable money or something.

I think a lot of the competitiveness is overstated. There are plenty of ways to get gear if you want it, and none of them are necessarily that time consuming. Pvp gear is generally terrible for pve given the more pve friendly options, for instance. And badge gear that competes with 25-man raid gear in quality is easily available if you want to spend the time getting the badges. Heroic Magister's Terrace also has some nice drops.

For other things like epic flying mounts, I don't know why people stress out about things like that. I chose to make tailored gear for my mage and knew I wouldn't want to save up the money for one. Nowadays, there's more than enough dailies to save up the gold if want one. The thing is, I don't really care. There are two cases where I want them, and that's such a limited part of my play time anymore. One is doing the bombing run dailies, and the other is doing quests with someone with a faster mount. Now, if I were a gatherer, I might be more inclined to pick one up. But I'm not, so there's really no need for me to have one. I spend very little of my time in the Outlands anymore, anyway.

It's standard that mot MMO's have a monthly subscription to play. At first I thought it was too much, but after playing for a long time (FFXI for about a year and a half and WoW for 3 and some change) you come to realize that the fee is well worth it compared to the MMOs that don't require a subscription.

I would rather pay for quality then settle for free sub-par gaming experience.

I agree with that. The new content additions, fixes, and other support are more than worth it. I've found those lacking in other games that I've played that had no subscription attached.

If you want: Remember not to get addicted. I play WoW too, and I just play casually.
