I would like to know if I can get an Intel Core 2 Duo, a new motherboard, and new memory(MOST Intel Core 2 Duo's had DDR 2 800 unlike mine). So can I do these changes and do it easily, such as just swapping them. A site said it is possible, when making a new computer, to use an old HDD and it work like magic, knowing some new OS and tottaly different stuff. The reason why I'm doing all this swapping is because when I play 2142 or CoH once the loading is done, it takes about 2-4 minutes before the game start (or the game stops playing at 5 FPS). I used a Pentium 4 proccessor on my cousin's PC, with alot of same specs, just different CPU, and he has those 2 games, and it was super fast. Final Statement: Can I upgrade my CPU from AMD Athlon 64 3500+ to Intel Core 2 Duo, (obviously getting a new motherboard) and possibly go from 1GB Ram to 2 GB? If I can what is the easiest way to do so.
