alright so here is my situation. i have a gtx260 and i am pretty happy with, however i will be going to college soon and i am bringing my desktop with me and unless i somehow get a ton of money during my college years (gonna be pretty cash strapped) i will have to keep it for the next couple years. i have about 200-250 bucks, so i was thinking about picking a 6950 so it could last me for a LONG time. I dont want to get a new card if i dont have to however, so if you guys imagine a gtx260 at 1600*900 will give me great fps for the next few years than i will stick with it, but otherwise i will upgrade. (also i cant sli, b/c i have a crossfire board). the rest of my rig is good, so the only problem is the gtx260(which i am currently satisfied with).

thanx in advance

I agree - keep the 260 (I have one and, as you said, am satisfied). Save the $200-$250, wait a year, check out the Bulldozer, Ivy Bridge offerings and maybe do an upgrade to one of those (and in the process, buy a new motherboard that allows SLI, picking up a second GTX 260 for cheap and move on up in performance without wasting a good card)

I just upgraded from a gtx 260 core 216 to a gtx 460 and noticed significant gain in performance. But furthermore, I just stepped up to a gtx 570. Either way you look at it, I sold my gtx 260 for about $80 dollars on ebay and picked up the GTX 460 1gb ssc for $130 after subtracting the 80 + ebay fees which roughly came out to 70.

Keep it, wait for the next generation of video cards.
