Is there a way to fix that or should I uninstall the game and curse ubisoft and their crappy drm and cloud saving for the rest of my life...

This is kinda a major issue since I don't play that much anymore so losing progress and being forced to play the same missions over and over is not acceptable.

I also bought Splinter Cell: C and am having serious problems. I can't even play online because I get a "file not found error"

I'm pretty sure Ubisoft has a forum where you can voice your complaints. Posting it here isn't very useful.

U(not)Play, the only thing that somehow manages to be worse than Games for Windows Live, sorry to say it but verify gamecache and if that isn't working you are better of banging your head in a ubisofts forum.

Would it matter at this point? Conviction and Uplay has been around for a LONG time.

I'm also struggling with disconnects (yay DRM!) most of the time. Oh to poop with this, I'll just grab my peg leg and remove the DRM myself. That way I can actually play the game.

Yea, Uplay sucks. I can't even play my Assassin's Creed 2 game. Keeps saying my key is already in use when I try to tie the game to the Uplay account.

Yeah I can see why PC gamers despise Ubisoft, I've never had this issue with another game but I had to repeat that damn Iraq mission like 5 times because my progress kept going back to that point. Luckily I haven't had any online issues, but constantly having to be online is a rather crappy DRM, especially when I can easily remove it.

I was going to buy Conviction but in light of Ubi's rather draconian DRM, I decided to do some research first. I initially found that the "always on-line" requirement had been removed in the 1.04 patch and was about to buy when I found several posts complaining that the requirement seemed to be back in place. Sure enough, Ubi reversed themselves and re-instated the "always on-line" requirement in an "update" released on July 15, 2012. Guess they wanted to make well sure that any new customers from the Steam sale had anything but a positive, trouble free gaming experience. After all, Ubi's got a reputation to uphold.

I wonder if they're actively trying to sabotage their PC division so they can justify scrapping it altogether or if they really are just that out of touch and incompetent. Regardless, I won't be buying Conviction.

It's bizarre. I wonder if this was a case of miscommunication or the French version of seppuku.

This is exactly why I didn't buy the game. Heard it has way too many problems.

Same I was tempted at £3 but I decided that Bastion deserved it more. I won't be buying a new game till September so hopefully Bastion, Trine 2, Borderlands DLC and some Gotham City Impostors can keep me entertained for 2 months. There was a cry out on another forum where I use to go on I assumed things were fixed but I guess there are still some issues. Not worth it even for £3... that and I'm a huge Splinter Cell fan and don't like the direction its heading with this and the new one.
